i don't really understand why people in this forum stress the importance of such rigorous diet and exercise regimes when a lot of the time they are not even experienced amateur boxers

unless you're training for a fight, or constantly ready for competitive boxing, i don't understand why you would abstain from alcohol, soft drinks, crisps, burgers etc.

    everything in moderation

The only thing I frown upon is alchohol. I'm a strong believer in working harder to be able to eat what you want.

neither are really good for b/c they have no nutritional value whatsoever. the diet one's have less calories than the normal drinks and ppl are misled to think they are much better when they are chock full of artificial sweetners the other one doesn't have. water or fruit juice is the best thing even better if you have a juicer and do it yourself b/c a lot of the juices you buy at the store like tropicana have so much sugar in them.

I just read about a study on diet sodas and they said that they actually are worse for you in terms of weight loss. The artificial sweetners trigger a chemical response in your body to break down sugars but there are none to break down and your body compensates by sending signals/cravings to eat something that these chemicals can break down. So people usually end up eating sugary foods without even really thinking about it.
