Valentino is listed as 5'7" and Dredhaj - an Italian by way of Albania (probably of mixed descent, going by his two surnames) has more pro experience and TOWERS over him. Could be six foot, maybe a hair under.

...but NOT in the second, clipping Dredhaj with a perfect left hook on the point of the chin and dropping him very hard. Just a few moments after getting up and pedaling furiously on his bike the Albanian is hit with another lunging hook by Valentino chasing and throwing from up on his toes, and rocked to his core, and waved off. Bizarre scene though - it seems the ref changes his mind instantaneously and there's some confusion as he sends both men to neutral corners and contemplates a restart, I guess calling mulligan on the stoppage (which...isn't a thing you can do, I'm fairly sure) but ultimately the 'call on the field' stands.

    TKO2!!

Valentino improves to 3-0 (3), and Dredhaj falls to 6-1-1 (2).

That was a clinic on how to fight short, once he adjusted between rounds - you employ straight feints to do a little misdirection, give the impression that you can't reach the opponent with your best shots, then kick in a burst of foot speed and plant a nice fat hook on the kisser. Works if you have that second gear of energy in reserves (and decent punch accuracy shooting upward, importantly) to get away with it.

Main event coming up. There's another 6-rounder at HW that hasn't taken place yet (Gianmarco Cardillo vs. Sergio Romano) but they may be saving it for a walkout.

Gotta say, not all anthems are created equally epic and inspiring...

Il Canto sounds so silly and caricaturial, likeif Disney made an animated Super Mario Bros film and it was the scene introducing their home village on the day of a fair.

They put Hagler's image up on a screen above the ring and call for a full minute of silence. No ten bell salute, just ringing it twice bookending the minute.

(he lived there for years, if anybody wasn't aware)

This is for the vacant Italian heavyweight title, last captured by Luca D'Ortenzi nearly two years ago (with a lineage of nearly 110 years, boasting Olympic bronze medalist Paolo Vidoz and world titlist Lorenzo Zanon)

    Round 1

Giustini floats the southpaw jab while shuffling halfway into range, but then juking out again in a very staccato and jerky rhythm, difficult for D'Adamo to really time with anything. The left jab of D'Adamo is parried aside by Giustini's right and he slingshots up some lefts from the hip, grazing before ducking away to resume zigzagging on the outside. Bit of clinching in the final half-minute.

    10-9 Giustini
