P.S. There's plenty of footage of Penalosa, and I'd favor him to beat early Pac at 115.

Id say Manny, Elorde, and Villa could be interchangeable at top 3, but Elorde has the single best win.....beat top 5 all time featherweight great Sandy Saddler

Anybody who doesn't acknowledge Pac as the greatest pinoy boxer ever is just plain trolling.

No disrespect to the greats like Elorde and Villa, but none of these boxers even came close to Pac's accomplishments.
    NOT EVEN FREAKING CLOSE.

Sure they could arguably beat Pac on a 1 on 1, sure they beat legends of their time, but how can we all quickly forget Morales, Barrera and Marquez and 7 (or 8 ) freaking world division titles?

Pac is arguably the greatest Asian boxer of all time, how the hell did 2 pinoys suddenly overtake him on the local rankings?

Elorde has the best win of the three (against Saddler). He might have won the rematch had Saddler not used his laces to work a cut that had been opened, because he was leading on the cards.

Plus he stuck around and dominated 130lb for a decade.

If you rate Manny as the best Pinoy, that's understandable. But Elorde doesn't reside on a much lower plane than Pac, 'cause he was pretty great in his own right.

True, as far as domination over a SINGLE division is concerned, then by all means Elorde is the man.
And if we're talking about 1 on 1 here, then my money's on Villa among the three.

But Pac's competition is nothing to scoff at either, especially when you factor in the amount of divisions he jumped, and would've ABSOLUTELY dominated (JrWW, for instance).
I'm quite confident that Pac's accomplishment will never be duplicated again. EVER.

    Pac's surpassed Elorde imo.

Elorde was the best SFW in the world for 88 months by my reckoning and in this time he faced 8 worthwhile opponents: Gomes,Lopes, Caprari, Copeland, Bizzarro, Allotey, Kosaka, Kosaka, Suh.

Altogether his meaningful resume (only including legitimate losses between his prime years of 60-67) reads:

    Lightweight:

Saddler, Schoonmaker, Gallardo, Chestnut, Leon, Rivas, Campari, Kosaka, Kosaka (L), Kosaka, Allotey, Ortiz (L), Suh, Barrientos, Narvaez (L), Laguna, Numata (L), Ortiz (L).

    SuperFeather:

Gomes, Gomes,Lopes, Caprari, Copeland, Bizzarro, Allotey, Kosaka, Kosaka, Suh,Numata (L).

Plus he has a couple of wins at BW against a fella named Campo.

His best filmed performance is in a rematch against Rivas:

In it he shows a lazer right hand and veyr impressive patience as he boxes his way from the outside.

There is also footage of him against Saddler in a cuts loss where he impresses until the stoppage.

I would certainly rank Pacman ahead though. What he's done from Fly to WW is amazing.

Oh, I'm not dismissing what Pac has done for a second.

Four lineal championships in divisions that range from flyweight to jr. welter is nothing to sneeze at (neither are the titles in 8, really). Fighters who can climb divisions from fly to welter and beat top caliber opponents in each division are few and far between. In fact the last one who managed to follow a trajectory at all similar to Pac's was the aforementioned McLarnin...And he was fighting 80 years ago.

    Pac's once in a lifetime. That's for sure.:good
