Hmm, well, there IS the fact that he beat one of the best boxers ever in Willie Pep convincingly multiple times when said fighter was being even dirtier then Saddler himself.

have you really watch the fight. in the 3 fights ive seen, that fight was no different to the elorde-saddler fight..i remember saddler keeps on clinching and holding pep's arm as pep cries loud. the crowd know that. pep's arm was badly damaged by fouls. their last fight is only the time when pep gets dirty..

So you're conceding that the other three fights were equal efforts in dirty fighting on both their parts.

no way, i said that pep went dirty only in their last fight. if ever he throws a punch uncalled for, that's only a instinct response to the fouls of saddler. something that elorde never does. elorde and pacquiao have one thing in common, their fighting style is the cleanest among HOF boxers

    Bzzt. Wrong.

Pep was every bit as dirty in their series. Again, feel free to use the new and amazing power Youtube that you've just discovered to see the startling truth!

Not true, Pep went dirty as early as their 2nd fight - that's after fighting a clean fight in their 1st fight and seeing where it left him.

Pep began holding, wrestling, and grappling because his usual "clean" boxing style didn't work against Saddler's exceptional height and range. Saddler's elbowing, holding-and-hitting, etc. were done to counter Pep's wrestling tactics.

Nah,I still think that while Sandy still counts as an ATG win for Elorde because he's still formidable although past his best, Sandy was a good brawler who's despite dirty,a man that knew good tactics and grappling.
