He wasnt KO'd. His corner stopped the fight because both his eyes were swollen shut. And Gonzalez was a good fighter and there fight was great.
Indeed I do. I also know what I scored it, and the Compubox counts. Which rounds did you give to whom?
Gonzalez was an amazing fighter, should have had him matched with Naz in 96', to bring the princess' reign in to a much earlier end. Ahhh, but that would have killed the golden goose.
Looking back Hamed was a very good fighter, never mind the fact he never lived up to expectations, a lot of incredible talents burn out young (George Best anyone?) but his record is a lot better than he gets credit for, he destroyed some good fighters during his Featherweight reign and cleaned up the division. Barrera was a great fighter, losing to a great fighter on points isnt really all that bad. People should just look at it for what it is rather than what it could have been or what it wasnt. He was arrogant but great to watch and had the goods to back it up.
Have you seen Hamed's documentary filmed in the lead up to the Barrera fight..."The Big Fight, The Little Prince" <----- where do you think HBO got the inspiration from? Despite what Mayweather claims, it certainly wasn't him that created the 24/7 series . It's clear for everyone to see, Floyd has very little charisma when you compare the two. Naz (despite being arrogant and disrespectful at times), was naturally funny. His mere presence (not even having to speak) conveyed how confident and full of character he was. Heck, even Floyd wanted a piece of Naz's drawing power! And wasn't it Floyd who once compared normal fight contracts as "slave contracts compared to what The Prince is getting"? Boxing ability wise, yes Floyd reigns supreme. But personality wise, Hamed is very missed (as evident by the comments in this thread), and did wonders for giving boxing (especially the lower weight divisions) the recognition it deserved.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ClZkyV-boQM[/ame] True, I must say. Hamed went over the top way too much. Robinson certainly didn't deserve that treatment, nor did Molina...or, of course, Badillo, etc. (Although I think this was, in a perverse way, why Naz was often so entertaining. His sheer cruelty in the ring.)
Regardless of the score he got his ass kicked by somebody he thought he could beat with ease... stop nuthugging
You are a complete idiot. He thought he could "beat with ease" Barrerra... please. Tell me a boxer who went into a fight thinking he could lose and I will show you a coward who never had a chance of winning. Naz stood in there against an ATG like Barrerra, Naz was on the downside and Barrerra was absolute prime... I give that 100% RESPECT. All the idiot revisionist history halfwits who think otherwise can have there way... Boxing is full of these sort of idiotic half truths and myths..... Ali got an extra 5 minutes between rounds against Henry Cooper, Meldrick Tayler was permanently punch drunk after fighting JCC the first time, anybody who didnt get bullied by Tyson beat him.....
The best version of Barrera beat the worst version of Naz on pts I know the best Naz beats the best MAB
