Flashback: How Floyd Ducked Margarito & Cotto

Floyd turned down a contract from Arum.

While he would of got 8 million for Margo who Arum said he would of taken.

Arum would only give Floyd less money for bigger threats.

 

He called Margo a D level fighter.

 

maybe floyd should fight a girl scout or something. fighting professional boxers is just too scary for him.

 

another thing. if margarito was such a shitty D level fighter, and floyd is an A level fighter, then why not take the easy 8 million and and give margo a boxing lesson?

As if Margarito wouldn't have stomped Judah and Gatti if he had been given the opportunity to fight them. Clottey was a much dangerous fighter than Baldomir, Gatti, or Judah.

Bottom line is Void Mayweather missed out on padding his bank account by eight million dollars againt an "easy" opponent.

 

Because Arum said the DLH fight was out of the question.

And Arum said that Floyd would of fought margo but ARUM would only give Floyd 6 million to fight Cotto, Mosley, and Hatton.

AND he fought Baldomir for 8 million + PPV + Lineal title.

 

DLH at 154 provided more risk then Margo at 147. At 154 it was a weight that PBF never fought at. Freddie Roach is a better trainer then the trainer Margo had. DLH is also a flat out better fighter then Margo. They both are around 5'11 with a 73 inch reach.

Mayweather vs Margo would have actually probably been a boring fight. Just like the Mayweather vs DLH was. Mayweather would have avoided danger just like he did DLH, boxed Margo's socks off just like he did DLH. DLH even has faster hands then Margo.

 

what does DLH have to do with the price of tea in china? what does giving him 6 mil for hatton have to do with fighting margo?

why not fight margo & baldomir? then he would have 16 million?

 

DLH was trying to fight like margo, which is not his style. that is margo's style, and he probably would have whipped floyd's little ass. floyd would have fought margo just like cotto did. he would have stayed on the outside and moved all night. bad move. bad matchup for mayweather.

just because mosely kicked margo's ass doesn't mean floyd would. different strokes for different folks.

 

Simple. Because after fighting Baldomir, he participated in the highest grossing fight in boxing history (DLH), earning 25+ mil.

 

Because Arum was offering Floyd a contract to Top Rank with the Margarito fight.

That's why it matters. If Floyd signed to fight Margo it was linked back to Top Rank.

 

Henry Bruseless was also Cotto's sparring partner and one of his friends. The Mayweather vs Bruseless was set up to open the door for Mayweather vs Cotto. Cotto also used that fight as a measuring stick to see how far he was away from Mayweather. After Mayweather TKO'd Bruseless in the 8th Cotto felt he needed more time.

 

Yeah! RIGHT! Once upon a time there was COTTO,MARGARITO,PAUL WILLIAMS and MOSLEY in WW.

So not fighting two guys Margrito and Cotto who are not and never have been on Mayweather's level = Mayweather ducking them?
