Cotto's next fight is against DeMarcus 'Chop Chop' Corley. Mayweather's first fight at Jr. Welterweight was against Corley; so Corley too will be a determining factor. The reality is that neither Corley nor Bruseles will give Cotto the answers he seeks because styles make fights. Good read. Obviously, the Bruseles fight didn't go the way Cotto's camp had hoped, but I think if Floyd would have stayed with Top Rank, Cotto would've been fed to him anyway.
I'm not so sure about that. They percieved Cotto has having the bigger star potential between him and Floyd. They wanted to protect Cotto for as long as they could. That fight was never going to happen under Arum. You see now that Arum doesnt promote them anymore, the fight was made with no trouble at all. :deal
I recall @ 140 Mayweather called out Cotto and Hatton. Both camps turned Mayweather down saying their fighters were not ready to fight Mayweather.
May/Gatti did 340k and neither guy was a big draw. The way Mayweather had been fighting lately vs Corley/Ndou had sparked some interest..Mayweather Judah did 350K...Floyd was going to be at least a Roy Jones level draw(Roy's biggest draw was 602k against Ruiz) Undefeated May/Cotto would have done close to a mil and would have launched the other into megastardom.
