Good assessments - pretty much spot on. Spence is a huge talent and already fights at a very high level, but there are always things to work on and improve.
Those are all good points. I also don't think Spence can fight off his backfoot very well. Brook was beating him up when he was coming forward. When Spence took the initiative and fought off his front foot, he started to beat up Brook as well. I think Thurman will have a tough time against Spence because I don't think he will pressure Spence enough to win the fight. A guy like Porter or Manny will give Spence problems IMO.
I love Spence aggressive style, his work to the body is something really special, but I am seriously concerned about the long term damage to his health with his style. He is truly special but will not have a long successful career with his style of boxing.
He has to tighten up his defense. I think he was fair in his assessment last night by giving himself a B-. I also think Kell gave one helluva performance, I didn't think he could rough Spence up at any point in the fight and he did have his moments throughout the bout. Errol doesn't stop working and that includes during holds/clinches. With that being said, someone who has a non-stop motor with power in both hands could give him a really tough fight. Spence should be proud of what he accomplished yesterday, but I started to notice a few flaws in his style. That's usually what happens when you step up the level of competition in the manner that he did. Right now the most sensible fight for him is either facing Porter or Garcia while waiting on Thurman to recover so that they can unify later this year or early next year. I think out of all 3 of those guys, Porter could give him his hardest fight. He's a tough out for anyone in general due to his style.
