I'm sure they just said this on sky sports news. Can anyone clarify it?

4x2 min rounds? So basically an amateur fight? Well they don't use that in the Ams no more. So is it pro rules or Amateur rules with head gear and vest?

I'm assuming you don't go to many small hall shows? There are loads of examples of 4 X 2's or 6 X 2's up an down the country. I don't know why, as I would prefer it always to be 3 minute rounds but it is not new for a pro fight.

Sure I've read that 4 x 2 minutes is the minimum professional fight duration.

The paying public will get 8 minutes of action, and only if it goes the full distance.

It's a professional fight for a novice. Four two minute rounds aren't a new thing and are probably ideal for a clapped out cricket player.

The media seem to be getting behind this now- could result in literally dozens more buys for Boxnation.

Hardly ideal for a crowd paying specifically to see this fight though. You wouldn't want to get caught in the drinks queue that's for sure.

Whoever paid specifically to see this fight probably have no idea that Freddie would see four two minute rounds as an eternity once the punches start flying.

Freddie will be gassing after one round from nerves alone, he'll be the happiest man alive to make it through to the end in one piece.

    4 x 2 mins rounds is what it should be...its the minimum place to begin a pro career....i've seen a good few 4 x 2mins live.....and 6 x 2mins too.

Quite a lot of small hall shows have 4x2 for debuts unless they have lots of amateur background

Ive seen the 2 min round thing before on TV here and I think in Germany. It isnt new but Im guessing its more a white collar thing. I dont want to get involved in the should celebs be fighting debate as I dont think it is ever going to be much of a problem. Flintoff will fight, probably win. He will most likely feel he proved his point and just leave the sport. Points win and done is my prediction.
