Because it only happened the other day?

That was a nice step up by Gorman, and he looked great.

But this was the first time he’s looked that impressive.

Couldn't agree more. Gorman looks quality for a 21 year old HW, but IMO he doesn't have the reach to trouble the top guys in the division. He'd be giving up 10-12 inches in reach against The Mack, Wilder and AJ. They could bust him up with their Jab all night. He has speed, but those guys aren't exactly slow either. Right now I don't think he's got enough to be the best but it'll be interesting to see how he develops over the next 5 years.

Joey Dewejko is a slow as molasses midget with a basic skill set.

Gorman is a 6'3 speedy big man with smooth skills and a varied arsenal of punches.

Charles Martin beat the daylights out of Joey Dewejko , a guy who openly admitted before he fought Joshua , that he only knew how to use 2 punches.

Gorman has already shown he can throw almost every punch in the book , and in combination.

Him and Joey Dewejko are literally nothing like each other. Joey Dewejko would get dealt with like Sean Turner was and Gorman would probably turn over Charles Martin as well.

What this nonsense about him being 6'1 in reality?

Here's a pic of him next to Tyson Fury , so he clearly all of his listed 6'3.

    https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Cf7lhAmUYAEmeMS.jpg

Filip Hrgovic is all spearing long shots from the outside. One you move in on him , he's open to be taken apart within the wheelhouse.

The reason there's not much hype about Gorman is because he looks like a regular Joe down the pub watching the darts while drinking a pint and eating a packet of crisps.

People follow fighters based on trivial matters such as personality and appearance. Its why Bellew can't get any credit despite him being a very technically impressive fighter to watch.

    Couldn't agree more, great breakdown.

No one predicted Gorman could take out Big Sexy that emphatically and yet he is being given very little props.

First time I saw him listed on boxrec he was 188cm 6'2, now he's listed as 191cm 6'3, standing next to the 5'10 1/2 Sean Turner, he doesn't look a cm over 6'1. If that picture is an accurate representation of each mans height (Fury crouching and leaning in), then I supposed you're suggesting Gorman is 6'6? He has a shorter reach than Andy Ruiz and he is only 6'1 1/2. Gorman and Dewejko are a lot alike. Both very skillful and fast out boxing counter punchers. Gorman is taller, but both have short reaches. Both are sloppy around the midsection. Dewejko would take Turner to school anyday of the week. I like Gorman, he's a good prospect. Feel free to show me one fight of his where he has had to use his agility, come forward and fight on the inside against a taller boxer like Hrgovic if you think he can actually move in on him, if you cant, then you know why he hasn't passed the eye test yet, because like Dewejko, it doesn't matter if you can throw every punch in the book if you cant put yourself in the position to reach the guy... that's what he's going to have to do in the future to remain competitive in the heavyweight division. Beating a very small 5'10 1/2 and very beatable club fighter coming off a loss, whose other loss was to the indomitable 3-9 Sokolowski, isn't exactly something to start hyping over. Let me know when he's ready to rumble with Webb, Joyce, Dubois, Cornish so we can see if he actually has some inside game or if he is another too short, short reached counter punching out boxer who will have their ears boxed off against a taller skillful heavyweight.

The same Big sexy who was demolished by 3-9-2 Kamil Sokolowski? Hahahahaha now I know there are some jokers on here deliberately trying to hype Gorman. Props to Gorman for doing what he was supposed to do against a 5'10 1/2 club fighter with T-rex arms coming off a loss there for a payday. Look forward to seeing Gorman fighting some taller and stiffer opposition in the future. Nick Webb anyone?

    Yes please.

You make some good points, the only way to answer them is to see Gorman stepping up against bigger opponents.

I hope he can develop a good approach that lets him unleash those body shots and uppercuts without getting destroyed by jabs on the outside. He should look at Povetkin, moves forward very fluidly and throws in combinations.

Nick Webb would be good oppoent for Gorman but he would lose him by late stoppage or would loose by wide decision.

Dewejko is a 5'10 midget BUM with a 70' reach. Robert Easter Jr has 6 inches in reach on him.

He isn't an out boxer , nor is he a counter puncher. He's a face forward , plodding soup can. Gorman makes shot work of him.

Btw , learn how to use paragraphs.

Dewejko won 14 USA amateur championships where he used to beat on Bryant Jennings, and a super heavyweight gold medal at the world youth amateur championships. If having kids at a young age and putting his young family first by supporting them any way he can makes him a bum, feel free to walk into any boxing gym in Philly and tell your cool Dewejko is a bum story, you'll be a star. Until that day, 'shot' is spelled 'short', comers don't need spaces before them and paragraphs are formed using more than one sentence champ.

Hrgovic won't beat Joshua, it's a clear as day. But he will be a belt holder at some point.

Probables because Hrgovic has a storied past as a top level amateur, Olympian, multi-time amateur world championship fighter, beat guys like Joe Parker and generally only list to elite amateurs like Dychko, Yoka, Camarelle etc.

Also went 25-4 in WBS which is a sublime record.

Gorman on the other hand hasn't had much of an amateur career and hasn't looked amazingly impressive in the pros but he's still young and improving and has some good attributes that he can build on.

It's that simple, Hrgovic is more well known, had achieved more and beaten quality boxers on the otherwise of the game.

Doesn't mean it will translate into having a better pro career but it's fair enough reason for people to get hyped more. I doubt there is a lot of fans who even know who Gorman is, then again a lot of people won't know Hrgovic either.

I think it'll simply come down to who can take a punch better at this stage. Hrgovic seems quite bland and plodding albeit he seems like a good conventional boxer. Here's Joe Joyce showing some killer instinct in beating Hrgovic in a close fight you could say.
