definitely one of the most satisfying things I've done in the gym :yep

it was a left hook to the ribs, huge shot. leaned in and put my whole body into it.

how do you guys set up the left hook to the body? any recomended combos?

I've gotten pretty decent at slipping a right hand and countering with a left hook or uppercut to the body followed by a right up top.

Don't get over excited ! Hitting anyone in the liver area can drop them. Your turn will come. That is sparring, it happens.

Great work man. Hope you helped him up.

Fast clean jab (with a good step in), cross a little high (step in and right "/"), then follow up with the left hook to the body.

It just feels good though... Felt like such a bad ass
I did. I held my glove out and pulled him up.

When I did that I just said sorry and then laughed at him when he came back from the locker room and told me he threw up. Couldn't help it, it was damn funny lol. He saw it coming and had time to say 'OH****' when he realized what was about to happen.

Me and a mate of mine had a competition going to see who could land the best body shots. We had a round together that was almost entirely body shots just because we were trying to drop eachother with them. I think I was doing better because I was landing them more consistently and cleaner against the other guys, but then my mate landed one on a guy and made him fart. He won the competition.

I wouldn't feel bad ass about dropping someone in sparring. In a fight, that's a different matter, because that's where it really matters.

I love the left hook to the body! comfortably my favourite and best shot. seems to hurt some people far more than others. I have probably dropped 15 odd people in sparring with it.

I think sparring to head you should control it and keep the power down but I also think all bets are off to body in open sparring. not when doing drills obviously!

I have most success with it following it up after the left right. the right being more iof an overhand to set the angle up to really hook up diagonally into the liver.

I dont genrally throw the right very hard. i more use it to distract and get their guard up so i can really dig it home!

Lol its always funny when people find time to say somthing like that rather than using the time to defend themselves from the shot, classic.

How do you block an uppercut?

Flooring people in sparring is always good but you need to transfer it into a fight. I've taken a couple of guys down with my SP left hook to the body. They sing a song when I hit them with it....but I've never landed it in a fight.

I punched a guy three times in a row woth a straight right to the body. He kept coming proving my theory of my lack of power. Should have aimed higher.

My fave shot too in sparring, set it up from distance moving in with a right hand is one way that I saw on a good youtube video, i normally counter a 1-2 with this moving outside the right hand...Satisfying to land one!
