Head to head I might agree. Arguello undeniably had a better resume though.

While Mayweather started his career at 130 and climbed up the rankings until becoming Champion, and then legend, Arguello landed at 130 after a campaign at 126.

    Now some facts:

-Arguello was never Lineal Champ at 126. He was WBC Champ from 1978 to 1980. Mayweather was WBC and Lineal Champ from 1998 to 2001.

-Arguello defended his belt 8 times. Mayweather defended his belt 8 times.

    -Both were undefeated at 130.

-Arguello's best wins at 130 were Escalera, Navarrete, Chacon and Limon. Mayweather's best wins at 130 were Genaro Hernandez, Jesus Chavez, Carlos "Famoso" Hernandez, Angel Manfredy and Diego Corrales.
