Just curious everyone says floyd runs??....is this easy for anyone to do...since alot of people on here say it like anyone can do it....ok and if he is running doesnt that take energy to constantly move around the ring.....and what the hell did ALI do........he kept moving......and what happens when you catch up with this so called Mayrunner??....he peppers your ass with laser pinned shots....so is this really easy....I dont think so.....Floyd is just more active then the fighters he's fighting
He fights in a safety-first manner. His style is that of a "defensive-counterpuncher." You can't really blame him: if he has the reflexes and tolls to get hit less than anybody and can still win fights, why wouldn't you fight the way he does. It doesn't make for great fights or entertainment value for the casual fan, but when it's all said and done, he'll be able to leave boxing with better health than Roger and Floyd Sr.
thats not really the point.... They say that for obvious reasons 1 - they dont find it entertaining, especially while other p4p fighters are putting on exciting fights AND showing skills 2 - he doesnt walk the walk. He said baldomir was gonna go out waving the white flag or out on his ass.... i was the first to defend him the way he fought baldomir, but quit being fake and saying your gonna do this and do that.... against oscar, he said he was gonna stand toe to toe... he was gonna ice him, ect ect... again, imo he fought smart but of course people are going to be bashing that kind of ****... playing devils advo here cuz i think hes a great boxer... you wanna see real running look at spinks against mayorga IMO (its pretty sad when mayorga chases you around the ring, then has to stop and look at you with his hands on his hips like wtf), casamayor against cruz a lot of parts, ect, ect... but wether or not the people critisizing it can do it or not is not really a good basis for arguing... i can garuntee you i cant box like spinks or gainer, doesnt mean i cant call it boring.
How many Mayweather fans rooting for SSM called Cotto a runner vs SSM? :rofl Cotto took a few rounds an boxed similarly as Floyd and suddenly all the attacks switch from plodding, slow, puncher, to runner Floyd is a boxer but there's been times he's utilized too much movement and not enough activity a la the Baldomir fight. Seeing as how Floyd's talking up a storm about KO'ing HaTTon? He'll look like a running fool if he applies that strategy in this fight:good
I agree with you there - Leonard was one of a kind Ray Leonard was a legendary fighter, the greater fighter, and a showman. Floyd is a cocky, arrogant boxer.
thats pretty much y people say that. He outboxes people period, and the American public wantes 2 see entertainment, blood carnage in the ring. Floyd does promise these things sometimes and then he doesnt deliver, which resorts people 2 call him a runner. BUt i love floyd as a fighter, and do appreciate his craft, so i wont call him a runner.
I'll just say this,it's a hell of alot easier to go in there,put your head down stand their and punch it out,and create an exciting fight,but not many guys can do what Mayweather does,thats for sure.
running for one fight isn't bad but running your entire career when you are suppose to be a fighter and a pound for pound one, then that's when most fans annoit you as "gayrunner" like they did to your boy Floyd.:thumbsup
I like the "stick and move" fights once in awhile but Floyd just annoys most boxing fans with his safety first mentality.
Ok, but Oscar applied that against Tito and boxed his ears off and I bet you still thought oscar lost that fight? Isn't that what you like: stick and move? That is what Oscar did, except Oscar stood in front of Tito plenty of times and dared him to go toe to toe and just because, he took off the last three rounds he deserved to lose. Floyd sticks and runs away!! It all depends who you like.:huh
Yeah but still boring. he should try to mix it up a little and back up his word when he says he is going to fight, then maybe fight fans won't criticize him so much
