In the post fight presser he said ''I dont need pacquiao. floyd mayweather makes 70 million with or without pacquiao'' etc etc im sure by now you all know about the exact wording and what he was saying. So your basically admitting your ducking him floyd? and saying you'd make 70 million fighting bumms so why fight pacquiao. thanks for clearing that up for us ***** boy floyd
He has said as much before. It's true. He doesn't need Pacquiao. (honestly Pacquiao doesn't really need him either) It's something the fans want to see, but neither man's legacy really requires. History will acquit them of that fact if they never actually meet. Right now everybody's still pissing and moaning about it but in 50, 150 years they'll look back at the records on paper and the footage of them in action and appreciate what Mayweather and Pacquiao actually did - and while they might be aware of some old news clippings and archived forum posts expressing that there was much demand for them to meet in the present day, people in the future will just shrug and say "Eh, one more big event that never came together. Lump it in with Bowe-Tyson, etc." and think nothing more of it.
Nah. It wants them. Want =/= need. They'll retire soon. Boxing will move on and be fine. New talents will sprout up (and hopefully get in the ring together).
He will be remembered as the guy who lost 'fighter of the decade' against one dimensional asian midget, 2nd best of this era . .
