His eyes never glazed an he went on to win the round an drop corley that very round aswel an pummel him the reff try rule it no kd wen it blatently was though.
Legitimate points. But the fact also is, that Mayweather destroyed ALL these guys. They each landed a flush shot or two, and even "stunned" Floyd, but both Mitchell and Corley ended up losing those rounds big anyway. With Zab struggling to win a single round after he got to Floyd. Floyd's defense must be even better than originally thought, if people get so worked up about "a flush shot or two". And fighting guys that were all "slick, fast" fighters, it's not surprising he got caught with a flush shot or two that he didn't see. It's what happens in boxing. It's not as if he looked seriously hurt or on the verge of a knockdown... Yes, I know the Judah knockdown was an official knockdown according to the rules (although not ruled by the ref), but I also find it funny that people get so worked up about that knockdown... BOTH Mayweather's knockdowns in his career have come from his glove touching the canvas (the other being Hernandez). The Judah and Corley fights were impressive, imho.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=guO2Q7oKkVM[/ame] watch rounds 3 and 4 floyd may of been stunned temp but still wins the rounds.
Swagger I'm not arguing that Floyd didn't beat Corley convincingly. My point is that if Corley, Mitchell, and Judah can hit Floyd cleanly, and fairly often, Pacqaio can do it without question. Floyd fans think that he's just going to box circles around Pac and never get scratched. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Floyd get knocked out.
Scorecards- Corley: Judge: Melvina Lathan 119-107 Judge: Gale E. Van Hoy 118-108 Judge: William Boodhoo 119-108 Mitchell: TKO6 Judah: Judge: Glen Hamada 119-109 Judge: Dave Moretti 116-112 Judge: Jerry Roth 117-111 Yup, that Corley fight sure looks grueling. And look at all of the trouble he's had with Mitchell. And boy, Judah sure was close to beating him. And yes, let's also ignore that Corley and Mitchell were his first fights at 140 and 147 respectively. Heck, judging from history Mayweather has a worse time against orthodox mexican fighters, given that Castillo and De La Hoya gave him his two closest first. I guess Pac better emigrate south of the border and learn to switch hit.
Did you watch the whole fight? Floyd is right in front of Corley for the whole fight. And he beat the **** out of Corley.
What indications do you have that Floyd will get knocked out? He's never even looked CLOSE to being knocked out. And despite those three being able to hit him cleanly (I disagree with often, but nonetheless), all three of those guys were THOROUGHLY beaten. I don't see how this is a positive for Pac. :conf
nipplefloss I'm not arguing the scorecards you douche. Obviously Mayweather won those fights convincingly. I'm looking at this from a stylistic perspective. Obviously Pac shouldn't emigrate south since he doesn't fight anything like Castillo or Hoya. If I'm not mistaken, your one of the ones who thinks Floyd is going to have an easy time with Pac. Explain to me how Mayweather gets hit flush, stunned and hurt by a mediocre southpaw named Corley.. stunned once by a tomato can named Mitchell, and outboxed early by Zab Judah, yet Manny Pacquaio isn't going to be able to lay a finger on him?
None of them hit Floyd "fairly" often and of the 3 only Corley landed anything that did any real damage. Watch the fights and tell me if there is ever a point in any of them when Mayweather looks like he is in any sort of danger. Corley landed a monster punch flush on Mayweather and still managed to lose the round. And that was with Mayweather slugging it out in his first fight at 140. There is a straw here, and you are grasping furiously at it. Mayweather will not fight Pac as the aggressor the way he did against those guys. He has no reason to, as Pac will come to him all night long.
Your a moron. Floyd went to the ropes for like 2 seconds, then opened back up on Corley and had him on the floor that very round. What a moron you are. A 5 second clip isnt ****. Why doesnt your dumbass actually watch the fight. Floyd wont be as reckless against Corley as he would against PAc. He had no respect for Corley, and made Corleys ass pay for 12 rounds. You think that fight was even close lol. And its not like Corleys garbage. He nearly beat Zab losing an SD, and had Cotto's ass really hurt. You wanna know what really hurt is in reality, what the Cotto Corley fight. He wasnt stunned dumbass. Floyd got in a brawl with Mitchell at the end of the round, got caught by a punch, leaped back then leaped back in wanting more. Stunned. :rofl YEah thats why it was 15-15 after to rounds. Clearly Floyd got slaughted. :rofl He hit him twice clean. The rest were glancing blows that Floyd rolled. The only real punch Zab landed, Floyd immediately covered himself up against the ropes, and Zab punched himself out. Floyd had a giant smile on his face. g See your dumbass doesnt even know what ****ing round it was. Zab stepped on Floyds foot while he was coming in, Floyd fell off balance, but because of his great athleticism only the tip of his glove touched. Wow. Some Mike Tyson **** right there huh? . Zab started losing because Floyd broke him down physically with precise counters and effective aggression. Had nothing to do with Zab wilting. Zabs punch out put was the same, he just couldnt land **** because Floyd is the smarter fighter. AGain, 30 rounds against southpaws. Only lost 3 of them. Get over it.
As I've already explained he's been badly hurt by a very mediocre southpaw. He's shown obvious vulnerabilities against southpaws that he hasn't shown against other fighters. Manny PAcquaio will be the best fighter he's ever faced - a true ATG at his peak - who's just as fast as Floyd, hits probably harder then anyone he's ever faced. How much more proof do you need that a knockout is possible?
Floyd fought all 3 of those fighters more aggressively then he usually does. He punished them. He didn't respect them that much and he traded more than normal with them. He has the ability to do that if he wants but he also has the ability to fight more cautiosly and box circles around Pac. But going by ur logic, and compare fighters. if Marquez can bust up and wobble Pacquiao then then Floyd can do it without question. I wouldn't be suprised to see Pac get knocked out. No, I think Mayweather will probably beat Pac in a fairly close fight, but it could certainly go the other way, though I don't see Pac winning by knockout. The reason that this thread is completely dumb and irrelevant is a) In two of those fights it was Mayweather's first fight at the weight. In all 3 he was the smaller man. b) In all three fights he showed little respect for his opponent and acted as the aggressor, in marked contrast to the counterpunching style we generally see, particularly in his later fights c) Marquez caught him flush at least as often as any of these guys (meaning not that often, but a few times). Even DLH and Hatton landed a some flush punches. Mayweather is not unhittable but he seems to have a pretty good chin, good recovery powers, and he doesn't get hit flush very often at all. d) Pac doesn't fight anything like the above 3. They all have a significant reach advantage over Pac and reach that is similar or the same as Floydsl. e) After the first three or four rounds Mayweather completely took over all three of those fights. He figured them out. It's what he does. Pac will certainly land some, but will he land enough, early enough, before Mayweather adapts to his style? f) Please show me where Mitchell stunned Mayweather. Of the 3 only Corley stunned him. Judah got him with a flash KD, but otherwise, despite hitting Mayweather cleanly some in the early rounds, he never stunned him.
Exactly. I've still yet to see anything in this thread that goes to anything about a possible Pac vs Floyd fight. Except that Floyd whups southpaws. Remembering, he's been hit FLUSH by guys like Castillo and Dela Hoya (catch some of those Castillo hooks)... Yet those fights were MUCH closer than these fights... So doesn't that go to the fact that Floyd has better success against Southpaws? Again, :conf
