Not worked up:nono Maybe enjoying the truth a litlle perhaps Remember Floyd went to 35 in 10/2000 and complaining of weight but went back down to 30 til 2002. Somethings wrong with that scenario Corrales was on his way to jail and they knew it. While PBF fought good opponents during that period? Casa would have been a better option:good He's done the same **** every weight class.:-(
Floyd went up to 135 for one fight after the longest layoff of his career. It was also right after he fired his dad as his trainer. I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility to believe he was having trouble making the weight after the layoff and decided to take 1 fight at 135 to get himself back in shape and knock off the rust.
I think he wants everyone to believe it was the very FORMIDABLE Paul Spadafora, and that masterpiece of a performance he put on against Floyd in those few rounds of sparring, that caused Floyd to "run" back down to 130. :-( I'm kinda over repeating myself here, though. Floyd at 130 has a great resume, even without Casa. Top 5, arguably higher. H2H he's definately higher, probably number 1 for me. That's MY opinion. And I'm sticking with it.
Reg, I have revisited our discussion on the significance of Lineal titles and ABC titles. While I still feel that beating the man who unified the title should grant you his status if he was stripped and didn't lose his titles in the ring, I have decided that you were correct in your assertion that the Lineal title no longer means more than ABC titles. After further research, there are many Lineal title holders who do it justice, but there are many who hold it hostage or lose it to a fighter when they get old who would have never beaten them, who then pass it around among lower quality fighters. It no longer has the merit it once held and has been corrupted (along with ABC orgs in my opinion). In this regard, you had more foresight than myself. Decebal, IMO, has the right take on this situation based on the post he made in that discussion.
Excuses either way:yep He complained he couldnt make weight but wouldnt move up. he could have fought casa at 30 or Spadafora at 35. They play the same game every division. Thus PBF vs DLH2 :-( :verysad :yikes :fire  :-((
Thus PBF v DLH 2? No, instead of fighting Casa at 130 or Spadafora at 135, he fought Corrales at 130, and then Castillo at 135. Both of those fighters were seen as better than the others, at the time.
Its a matter of cleaning out a division and proving who's best. Spadafora gave Floyd all he wanted and Casa would have been tough. PROOF IS IN THE PUDDING. DLH 2 is all game playing BS. Its clear there's a better and live opponent in Cotto but its the same song.
seeing both Frietas and Casa track record, I can honestly say, no boxing historian is going to look back at floyd Career and say that ether one of these guys should be on Floyd's resume. Frietas limited skill fighter with a decent punch , retired twice after losing twice. Casamayor ??? inconsistent..... against lesser skilled fighter he looks like he can beat the world , against B level and A level he has really struggled , and Im not even sure if hard core boxing fan think to much about Casamayor , in-fact Is anyone even watching his fights?
I'm not gonna waste my time repeating with you because you're one of the SQUAD lieutenants Casa and Chico were two best and its KNOWN. Unification and PROOF is the stuff of lgends. PBF should try it or he's selling HIMSELF SHORT:-(
no casa wanted pbf even called him out after he beat Chico. but PBF if i remeber correctly was not to keen on it and casa had to settle for popo
also if i remeber pbf really didn't wantto fight casa. he was more intrested in the prince. but alast prince lost to mab and pbf cried knowing he just lost out on a big payday.CASA had tried for quite some time to get pbf in the ring . not saying pbf would lost i just think it would of been a good fight
Yeah but PBF can't fight everybody. If he had fought Casa and not Castillo people would have said he ducked Castillo. Let's be honest here, Castillo was seen as the bigger threat to PBF back then not Casa.
