I'm a Floyd, Cotto and Margarito fan.

On Saturday, Cotto annihilated Gomez who - with all due respects - was not a proven or worthy opponent; unsurprisingly Cotto's praised for achieving beating a guy he's supposed to beat but couldn't lose to!! Whatever the case it was job done with aplomb.

Margarito - on the other hand - put on a 'Duranesque' clinic in soaking up Cintron's bombs, and handing the man an ass whipping; it was like watching a tiger brutalise a less ferocious but defiant four legged animal (apologies but knowing the names of various wildlife just isn't my thing)! Man, were these guys even the same weight (got to check the fight night weights as Magarito seemed to appear too big and too strong).

My point is that the above two fighters looked the business last saturday, and can no longer be seen as b/c level fighters or as not making good business (money making) sense. Mayweather needs to agree favouable terms and sign on the dotted line to fight preferably Margarito and then Cotto. If he doesn't and continues to remain in boxing he will be best remembered for ducking these two guys and in the hearts of boxing fans be known as a coward.

Forget Dela Hoya/ Hatton and secure your legacy:nono

Mark my words. Floyd will have to fight Cotto should he win their match up. The fans and the media won't stand for anymore excuses. Should Margarito win, I'd bet my house Floyd won't fight him, coming up with his favorite excuse that there is no money in it and he doesn't have a large enough fan base. Like I said...mark my words.

I think his legacy is already secure, though a win over Cotto/Margo would enhance it suitably.

Floyd would rather rematch guy's he's ALREADY beaten :deal

Forget about cementing legacy and all that. His moniker is "Money" for a reason.

it should be held against him forever if he doesn't fight Cotto at least...there are other much more exciting and dangerous fights for him than the ones he's mooted to be taking....rematches with old ass Hoya and club fighter Fatton.

Maybe i Cotto pushed for the fight it would get made. After hatton beat castillo he dissed Mayweather and called him out, i didn't hear cotto doing it after his fights.

Mayweather is top of the tree, if cotto wants to be number 1 he should start making moves for the Mayweather fight.

Everyone needs to stop talking about Cotto/PBF for now. Cotto is fighting Marg in July and the winner will get PBF. End of story

You use the word 'Duranesque' to describe Margarito soaking up punches and stopping Cintron?

I'd seriously respect Floyd greatly if he fought Margarito and Cotto instead of fighting Oscar and Hatton. Woudn't those fights be better for the sport?

I think that Cotto vs Mayweather would get more buys that a DLH or Hatton re match, meaning more money for Floyd. DLH and Hatton are going to offer Mayweather huge money to take those fights, Cotto and more importantly Bob Arum have got to make Floyd a simular offer. Guarentee if floyd was offerd 15mil to fight Cotto next week he would do it.

Arums two biggest stars are Cotto and Pavlik, and the two toughest fights for them are Calzaghe and Mayweather, the fact that they are retiring soon suits Arum as he doesn't have to make the toughest fights, and he can continue putting his cash cows in with the likes of Gomez and Lockett, or other Arum fighters!

I think it is just a matter of time before he comes out and fights cotto. Margartio (imo) is out of cotto's and mayweathers league. It just leaves cotto and mayweather. He wont sit on his money for that much longer before he gets that itch and him and cotto go at it.

Margo apparently isn't out of Cotto's league seen as they are going to fight eachother. And if Margo beats Cotto Floyd should definently fight him.

I agree though if Floyd worried about his legacy he won't wait on Cotto becaues if he waits too long he'll be too old and get his ass handed to him.
