Cotto was very accurate in the fight last night, and was still beat up very badly throughout even though he was competitive. Sure Floyd wouldn't get hit as much as Cotto, but some of those bombs are going to land from Margarito and his constant, effective pressure would break Mayweather down I believe.

Miguel Cotto was trying, in many occassions, to imitate Floyd Mayweather yesterday. He was on the ropes, going backwards and making Margarito miss.

    Stop talking nonsense.

What the **** are you clowns talking about? Cotto was not fighting like Mayweather.

If Cotto was fighting like Mayweather, Margarito would have iced him sooner. Yea, Margarito is gonna respect a guy more who doesn't punch him instead just runs. :patsch

Mayweather wasn't willing to engage too much against Baldomir. Think he'd just all of a sudden be more aggressive against someone bigger and stronger then Baldomir? He'd be backpeddling even MORE then he did vs. Baldomir. And you saw (if you watched) how much Cotto had to back peddle to get some air and set himself up. Mayweather's had bad hands for years. They would crack before Margarito's chin would, which held up just fine against someone who's likely a harder hitter @ 147 then PBF.

I don't think Mayweather would take as many chances as Cotto did, and would probably have a lower punch output.

Mayweather would not win being on his bike all night, and would not win trying to land a punch here and there. His best bet would be to stand his ground dodging punches while firing a LOT of return punches. But pressure is Floyd's kryptonite, as we've seen on a few occasions.

if it is such an easy fight for floyd he could've shut up all of his critics and fought margarito for the then career high 8 mills.
but i know what you'll say, the baldo fight made more sense rofl

Just because he always take on the role of aggressor doesn't mean he can't and won't be effective.

I think Floyd would make Margo miss all night. He wouldn't stand on the ropes and try to trade like cotto did. I think Floyd is smart enough to tie Margarito up when he gets in an uncomfortable situation like being on the ropes during Margarito's flurries.

Not if he get hurt at any momment during the 12 round. PBF can`t
hurt Margarito at all but Margarito can hurt PBF.

Margarito was rubbed against Santos. Margarito made a mistake by
    fighting Santos at his home.

Floyd had the chance at welter to fight Margo but didn't.

    Simple as that.

He didn't fight Williams or Cotto either.

Really, the difference is. Floyd looks brilliant (and TBH, is a great fighter) against guys he picks to fight.

Williams, Cotto and Margo are actually interested in proving who is the best in the ring by FIGHTING each other.

I have much more respect for guys that try to be the best by fighting the top guys and losing, than those that fight guys that aren't the best and win, and then somehow try to say that makes them top dog.

Floyd, really, can't claim to be (or to have been) any better than 4th best welterweight IMO.

Baldo, Judah and Hatton at welter are nowhere near the level of any of Cotto, Williams or Margo. Simple as that.

Daniel Santos is a big WW/JMW with a punch. FM is a small, very fast WW. Totally different animal. I favor Floyd against Margo because of speed and defensive skill. Ring generalship, footwork and speed will be his ace against Margo. Floyd UD 12.

This would be on the level of Mayweather v Baldomir ...
