I will say it now - I think Floyd COULD, probably would outbox Margarito.

But you Mayweather fans make it sound like Margarito is easy work - That is insanity. Utter insanity.

To ignore Floyd's own history - To say that Margarito's style is a danger to Floyd is to ignore the obvious - It is to ignore common sense - It is to dismiss without having any kind of open mind.

Fitz - You talk like Floyd is the only guy that trains for 20 rounds hard - Do you think Margarito goes for a run around the block twice a week before hitting the heavy bag for five minutes with a ciggie hanging out the side of his mouth?

If you're saying that Margarito doesn't posessthe tools to give Floyd a very tough fight - Them I'm afraid the dellusion is firmly in your camp Walke With Me, Fitz etc.

I'll say it again - Floyd wining a 116-112+ sort of fight will still look worse for wear than at any time in his career - and say what you want about his skills - It is almost boundless after all - He just doesn't have thirst for battle like Margarito does.

 

That's what we don't want in 2008. Save all that entertainment bull**** for later. His terms are gauged by the perfect oppurtunity. He won't ever feel as special as SRL if he loses some sort of comeback. Against a fresh Margarito or Williams he better be careful and watch the ropes. If he wins after 3 years and many division battles we are the biggest losers. Boxing should ****in sideline his ass like Brett if he wants to be a entertainer. Let him fight some bums before big paydays.

my god people in the middle of the ring the fight is done...margo is too slow punches to wide for him to even be effective any point in the fight we seen that with Cotto only thing is Cotto would move and end up on the ropes too much....now i hate to say it but Floyd would'nt even punch anywhere near those ropes and would keep this fight in the center and margo just is over matched then.

Say he his on the ropes again that shoulder roll and philly shell will work wonders because margo loops his punches and they are not accurate his punches won't hit flush and the damage will be extremely manageble for floyd...call Floyd what you want but he is tough in that ring. Also while on the ropes with Margo being so slow and punching so wide man he will eat so many uppercuts and counters.....can he tak'em yup pretty sure he can but its always the punch you dont see that really hurts you and accumulation and Margo is no different just may take longer. floyd throws fast decisive punches with nice power and it can hurt Margo.

Floyd is too smart to fight like Cotto did...trading with Margo is utterly dumb.....outboxing Margo with stamina and constant movement....you got yourself a victory.

Good post. Margo is also a HUGE welterweight. The size difference would be vast, with Margo applying nonstop pressure.

I don't know if Margo can WIN the fight, but Floyd sure as hell wouldn't knock toney out. It would definitely be Floyd's toughest fight to date - and I wouldn't be totally shocked if Toney wins by SD or late round TKO.

This is a fight I would love to see.
