Styles make fights and Pac is the wrong style for Mayweather. This fight would be interesting. Mayweather knows that Pac is a problem, ever since Pac stopped Cotto Mayweather has avoided him. He is afraid he would lose, and that is very possible. Mayweather is afraid of a loss................

If by "this era" you mean "since 2000", then I'll agree that Floyd is the best defensive fighter in that time period. Offensively however, Margarito would probably be in the discussion if it hadn't been for the handwrap scandal. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Margarito fan, I'm just being objective.

And yet Rigo has a better win (Donaire) than Floyd (Corrales) in his 13 fights, than Floyd has had over the span of 15 years.

Which stats? Percentage landed? If you're going to do it like that, then Paulie Malignagni has a better offence than Maidana or Mattyesse. It's on you if you wanna believe that.

Floyd is not just the best defensive fighter of his era. He is the best defensive fighter in the history of the sport! and in my opinion the best offensive fighter to. im a huge Pac fan. But Manny could only dream to be as good as Floyd.

It wouldn't be the first time Mayweather utilized his hide and seek technique to duck prime fighters.

    JMM is a COUNTER PUNCHER.
Anybody who operates best when the other person is initiating the action can't be dubbed as "the best offensive fighter" of the era.
Look at what happened when he was forced to initiate vs FMJ.
He didn't look like the JMM we all know and love.

To name a few, Pac has:

    1. Undoubtedly the best left behind the jab in the past decade, speed and power wise. How he consistently slips it through the high guard is beyond me. I can name very few south paws that may eclipse this title, but Pac clearly takes it.

    2. The most beautiful and well timed lead left that we've seen in the past decade as well.

    3. The fastest and most solid combinations thrown in the weirdest of angles in the past decade. The punches that hurt most are the ones that you can't see. (Granted JMM's combinations are more splendid, but Pac's angles and the sheer speed he throws it with are out of this world too)

    4. A really powerful right hook that gets thrown when you are too conscious about the left. (And still have enough stamina to slip under your punch).

    http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_zz3p63WSXZE/TN92JzMwWZI/AAAAAAAAAQw/4Z-Rgz5HsYc/s1600/9.gif

    5. An fancy footwork that makes him close distances to deliver an offensive and then get out before you can respond:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=do61EjeftB4

    6. One of the best feints in the industry (which incidentally also caused his recent KO):

    http://s28.photobucket.com/user/natas206/media/pac1-1.gif.html

And the heart, chin and stamina to back these all up.

Granted, these are probably not the best clips to showcase these but you get the gist. Pac is a damn good offensive fighter. A strong contender of being the best in recent years.

Floyd - best defensive fighter EVER. And Pacquiao is the best KTFO victim of this era.

Obviously i revised that and said I didnt know he was talking about just until 2010, but if you dont know about Abner Mares, then maybe you better ask somebody. You know boxing does exist outside of Mayweather and Pacquiao. Mares, Ward and Froch have the best resumes of any fighter over the past 5-10 years, so you can stop dismissing it as funny. Pac resume is Impressive since 2000, but so is Floyd: Corrales, Castillo, Gatti, De La Hoya, Mosley, Gatti, Judah. Cotto Resume solid: Mayweather, Judah, Margarito, Judah, Pacquiao.

And I didnt just start watching last year thank you, have been entrenched in the sport since I saw Leonard make Duran say "No Mas" in 1980. I just realize that the sport still exists outside of Pac and Floyd, unlike some of the rest of you.

Oh and one last thing. Pacquiao resume was impressive to me pre David Diaz, everything since then has been pretty much a sham/flim flam to me....
