You'd make a **** businessman. Some dude's offering you a third of a pie when you're deserving of a half, and you'd be happy with the third? atsch
No, you would make a **** business man. When talking money, you get what you make. Pac makes half of the offered 40 mill per fight. Mayweather makes that 40 mill per fight. This is a fight that should be career high for both. If my opponent got to double his highest ever earning, I sure as hell would want to double what I was making as well. Why if my opponent gets to double what he earns, would I settle for what I normally make ?
floyd skipped this part. we all knew that floyd rejected the fair split on why he won't fight pacquiao. now that his PPV with cotto would sure to sell more than pac-bradley, he would use this reasoning to further his claims and his rabid fans would also use this never mind the fact that in their last fight previous to this, pac outsold floyd and yet floyd demanded more.
double? floyd was guaranteed $25M for the ortiz fight. arum counter-offfered $50M under the same terms that he offered pac. why didn't floyd acepted that if doesn't want the 50/50 split or the 55/45 to the winner that pac is proposing?
Do you understand that $40m = less than $30m after Arum's cut? So he'd be making $3m more than for Marquez. Pac is not the brightest guy around, but even he's not this dim.
they are roughly the same draw. i'm referencing their last fight where pac-jmm (1.41M buys) outsold floyd-ortiz (1.25m buys) and yet floyd wants more. last time out, floyd and his camp has no problem with 50/50 back in late 2009/early 2010.
Can I please make this clear, 50/50 IS FAIR, I AGREE, FLOYD SHOULD ACCEPT 50/50, 50/50 IS WHAT I WANT, 50/50 IS WHAT WE SHOULD GET, 50/50. Jmm Pac was a trilogy fight it was always gunna sell more than floyd ortiz, arum has lied about a lot of numbers as well.
Pacquiao vs Marquez are two big names that made $1.41 million buys, don't forget that Marquez did hit over $1million PPV buys fighting Mayweather previously. That helps a lot. Mayweather vs Ortiz was sold solely on Mayweather's name and was Ortiz' first PPV.
It doesn't matter. Fans shouldn't be arguing over two EGOTISTICAL MONEY HUNGRY FIGHTERS that don't care what the fans want first. Why should they ? You will still pay to watch them fight others. Floyd offered Pac 40 million dollars. That's a lot of money, wouldn't you say? So I don't want to hear that is not enough. If he cared about his fans and legacy more than money (unlike Floyd who admits it), then he would suck up part of his pride for the small amount of 40 million dollars, take the fight, beat Floyd if he can because if he does, he not only gains Legacy points which won't go away unlike money....but he can then rematch Floyd and have full control of getting more money in the rematch or Floyd doesn't get one. But, he won't do this, will he? You know why? Because Pac thinks he is as much as a "chosen one" as Floyd does. That said, if I were in their position, "maybe" I would find myself doing the same. Bickering over who is better and who is deserving of what instead of fighting it out in the ring. I can't say. I'm not one of the "chosen" ones nor do I have a fat side-kick who wouldn't be trusted around a school-yard.
