Shut the **** up anyone that says he 'has' to fight Cotto or anyone else. Thats his decision, hes proved it again and again, he can adapt to any fighter, ****...he actually had Hatton so wound up before the fight that he wasnt mentally on the same level as PBF was on fight night! Best fighter i have ever watched live
i want the mayweather cotto fight as well.but i would not lose sleep if it never happend but if it did that woulod be great.pbf passes that test then i guess we can start the mayweather is running from paul williams or start the margo **** up again.
I'm a fan of boxing and Mayweather vs Cotto would be another great fight. Floyd retiring right now is like Michael Jordan's first retirement. Too soon.
thats the difference between mayweather fans and boxing fans, as a boxing fan you would want to see fights such as floyd-williams and floyd-cotto but as a mayweather fan you are looking out for floyds best interests.
I hate to say this but I agree with this comment. I wanted an upset by hatton and it did not happen. pbf has superior skills than hatton
A bout with Cotto would also be in Floyd's best interest. After the DLH fight, Floyd didn't need another payday. So why did he fight Hatton? Obviously he cares about his legacy. His hands looked good last night and he's always in shape so why not take a 6 month rest and come back and fight Cotto.
Some of you are so full of it. The author of this thread is totally on point. Case in point. This is a classic example of someone who's just a "hater" thats manufacturing up something. I guessing this poster forgot that DLH was a junior welter/welter. I'm guessing this poster forgot that Floyd has been at Welterweight longer than cotto and that Cotto was initially a 140lb fighter..
Let me just say that PBF is an ATG. He does not need to prove anything else. I would love to see him fight Cotto (not to solidify his legacy, just because it will be a good fight).
Good post. Of course boxing fans want to see him fight Cotto. He is the most dangerous opponent out there, and will be both a great test to him, and possibly a great victory to cement his legacy. Really, Floyd is only 30, and still virtually in the prime of his career. Why the hell would any true boxing fans not want to see him fight tough opponents still.
Was there anything I said that isn't true? And yes DLH fought at those weights, but he was severly drained fighting below and at 140 and he filled out at welterweight. Same thing with Cotto after fighting at 140.
Anyone that mentions another possible opponent for Floyd Mayweather other than Cotto should be shot in the face. Cotto is the only 1 more opponent that Floyd could use to put his legacy into another world. I KNOW that Floyd wants his 40-0 I just know it, and what better opponent than Cotto? 1 outcome is Floyd letting Cotto fight DLH and letting Cotto batter DLH's liver black and blue. That would further promote the fight with Cotto/Floyd just because Cotto would get serious mainstream spotlight. And that means way way way more money for a Floyd/Cotto fight. But its not like Floyd really needs to do this the man has bank already.
I'm loving that avatar :good back on the topic. You are so right, it's sad that people don't give credit where it's do.
