Interesting and may well be true. I would just like Floyd to fight one of the top fighters at WW and that means any of the guys mentioned. I find it difficult to believe that a fight couldn't have been made with at least one of these fighters over the last 5 years. Maybe they haven't all been campaigning there for 5 years but they have been there at one time or another

If Floyd was so adament he wanted to fight Marg he would of done it post Cotto Marg , if he was so adament he wanted to fight Shane it would of happened post De La hoya , but no he fought Ricky Hatton , if he was so adament he wanted to fight Cotto around the time of Cotto beating Mosley im sure Arum and Cotto would not of said flat no then do you ???

Williams and Clottey have never been given a mention , and the fact is Floyd has called out these fighters yes he has that is not up for debate , but where is he now , he wont fight a top WW , and we just wanna know why , thats is !!!! :huh

I disagree with adding Margarito - He's a cheating dirtbag and I refuse to include him in any boxing debates (unless it's about banning him). Sort of feel the same about Mosley too. Other than that, I agree that Floyd has danced around the division without really taking on the best. I hope for his last few fights he changes that and goes out fighting the best fighters. Otherwise, he'll go down in history with a little uncertainty on what he truly could have accomplished.

The Fanboys, and probably Mayweather himself, think just becasue they beat Bald9omir for the belt, that trumps beating any of the better WW's. But you are right, Baldomir will go down as no tonly the weakest WW champ ever, but possibly the the weakest World Champ ever. And Floyd has his great name on his resume. We know why Floyd was in such a rush to face this guy. HE fit the bill of the perfect Floyd opponent. It's sad someone as good as Floyd would allow his career to spiral like this.

    Check the internet, fool!

He has as many sources as all the Floyd-hating, Pac ball-lickers who continuously post opinions as fact.

Why don;t you fact-check them, Mr. Myth vs. Fact...

Lets not forget the fact he retired immediately after fighting Hatton, just as the WW division hit a boom in talent.

Fair do's, the fact he's not fought certain fighters isn't entirely his fault, Arum is an idiot for making negotiations difficult and being obscure etc, but I bloody doubt Floyd couldn't have made at least one of the fights happen.

On the other hand, he does still have a lot of time to change all of this. He is perhaps the most commanding name in boxing today, and absolutely everybody would jump at the chance to fight him. He should prove all us naysayers that were all wrong about him and go ahead and fight the best.

Forget the Pacquiao fight for now. I'm pissed off with both the camps for thinking they are above boxing. The ONLY ones who suffer from this fight not going ahead are the fans, and it's absolutely disgusting that a negotiation could not be made (though it's still very much possible they'll meet in the future).

All of this should suggest a re-structuring of the entire way bouts are made. UFC and MMA have it nailed, and you can guarantee that any fight their public demands, they will get. Not saying boxing should employ the exact same strategy, but there needs to be something done in order to bring these huge fights to reality.

Good post. Any one who isn't a fan of Mayweather knows this. He will never go down as a ATG.

Knowledgeable unbiased fans don't support floyd.

It's the biased ones who jump to his defense and talk about how much they sick of threads like this.

They will fill a pac vs clottey thread full of hate though... Can't get enough of that.
