First, I will give major props to Cotto for being GAME in the fight agaist Floyd. Floyd, was one solid shot away from Koing Cotto in the 12th. Also, when Cotto said he had to be pee it was true according to an MGM source. The source said off the record Cotto was pissing blood. Lets also gets some facts here. Cotto fought Mayweather at his weight and wasn't weight drain and Floyd didn't have loaded gloves so "NO" excuses and he lost this fight fair and square. Floyd, let up after he had Cotto hurt the same way he didn't press against Mosley late in the fight ( Naz Richardson came close to stopping the fight). Also, Floyd would have dominated 11-1 or 12-0 if he had of just box Cotto and not fought on the ropes. Floyd, still won 117-111 on my scorecard. Also, Cotto always was nearly 20 lbs heavier (super middleweight) than Mayweather. Mayweather, is the best deal with it!!!
No he couldn't, he did try but it wasn't going to happen, Cotto was far too tough and determined on the night.
Maybe if they had a few extra rounds,Cotto was ready to go in the final round but Mayweather didn't go for the kill.
No. He nearly stopped him in the 12th, he was trying for the stoppage, don't expect floyd to stop people at 154.
the last round had he attacked when he had Cotto stunned I think Cotto would have went down. Doubt he would have stayed down, but definitely a KD.
Do you have an inferiority complex,or do you just like drawing attention to yourself ? Floyd won the fight by 8 rounds to 4,but Cotto made him fight for every minute of every round.Pissing blood after a fight is a relatively common condition,it does not mean you got your ass kicked for 12 rounds. Floyd came back to the corner saying his nose was broke, did he do it himself ?
If he really wanted to push for it from the start, he probably would have. That's just not Floyd though.
No way he would have stopped him. At best Cotto was stunned in the 12th, that was it. Cotto was here to win.
No. He couldn't. Floyd is not a KO fighter. He has three KOs out of nine fights North of 140. (And one of those was a sucker punch). He wasn't stopping Cotto.
