When you consider who they fought and when they fought them, their opponents drawing power and lack of it, the amount of promotion being done and not being done in the different fights, you can make an argument for either one being the bigger draw. 50/50 is the only way to go here. The top two boxing stars of today, for one to insist on 60/40, its hard to look at that as anything but a duck. Floyd is nowhere near being the Elvis of boxing that DLH was where he gets the lion's share no matter who he faces because he is bringing the lion's share of the money to the fight in the first place.
and that is the difference, everyone bought Pac / Clottey to see Pac fight, Clottey is not a draw at all.
What will happen if the fight will not push through because of the differences in purse split? Vote here: http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=234949
see, i have yet to find a legit article that states that Floyd really wants a bigger purse than pac but if it was true then I don't blame pac for not taking the fight and head towards retirement. Pac doesnt need Floyd since his career has already been cemented in the boxing hall of fame. Fighting floyd is just an extra icing on the cake. I personally want to see this happen but then again, if floyd really doesn't want this fight, that's fine. i don't blame him. Like what someone posted earlier, if somebody knew he was gonna get the beat down of his life, might as well ask for a bigger share of the pie.
