Canelo was number 1 at 154 and guerrero was floyd's mandatory.floyd fought top competition this year, and no underdogs don't suck but floyd is leagues above everyone.

There is really no other choice than floyd.

Garcia got judah and mathysse.rigondeaux got one solid win against overhyped filippino who was badly exposed this year two times.Stevenson got bum after bum and GGG followed that bum path :patsch

Guerrero got one defeated, but revenged that and canelo was undefeated.floyd become guerrero and canelo's daddy.

    Garcia,rigondeaux,stevenson,GGG fought only leftovers.

guerrero is better win than overhyped mathysse :deal

GGG fought some japanese can for godsakes,no need to say anything else.

Rigondeaux and Stevenson atleast fought one decent figher this year,i'll give you that.

    GGG, GGG, GGG!

The fact is, GGG has fought NO ONE and is not even on Mayweather's level.

Floyd is man of the year in boxing. Take all those single awards and roll them into one and you will get MAN OF THE YEAR. Floyd is like the Enterprise and all those single awards are like space shuttles. That analogy is for you gents that have watched star trek.:yep

You can just Google it but 6 with the Bulls and 5 with the Lakers. What a great coach he was.

This is for fighter of the year, idiot. Many boxers didn't lose a fight this year. Many boxers who fought better competition.

I am going to assume you meant "detractors"? At which point, you are silly. This has been a very embarrassing year for Floyd with his incredibly blatant duck.

This year? He fought ONE good fighter and another limited fighter. FAR from "the best".

We are discussing fighter of the year, why would LAST year's wages mean ANYTHING. It is about THIS year, you mook. Also, while it is likely that he will be the top paid fighter for 2014, that year hasn't happened yet, so you can't say he received the top pay. Lastly, how much a fighter gets paid is absolutely irrelevant. It doesn't matter. Why does it matter to you? You know that being devoted to Floyd doesn't give you access to that money, right?

That has nothing to do with fighting. The fact that you even mention it makes me question why you watch boxing.

Now you have trailed off into nonsense...

Mayweather hasn't done enough to even be in the conversation for fighter of the year.

none of that is relevant to the title of fighter of the year except fighting and beating the best. That he hasn't done, and hence no title for him.

People that will give Mayweather fits within his weight class:

    Pac, Lara, Thurman, Bradley

Fight those and I will gladly say you're as great as you say you are. Problem is, floyd fans are the kind of ppl that think kanye west is god, i.e. braindead consumers that bought into the hype. Boxing purists such as myself love floyd's skill but despise his avoidance of challenges, because every time he stepped up, he produced a masterpiece, such as judah fight, castilio 2, delahoya, etc

guerrero is a lifetime featherweight, thats why he was a 9-1 under dog and got shut out
    guerrero is average at best

canelo was a win to talk about, but not enough to give him fighter of the year
he bored everyone to death in beating him
