I am hearing how Khan will use lateral movement against Canelo to keep him off balance and this is correct. However he used both Floyd and Lara as examples, which is completely wrong. Many times in the fight Floyd walked Canelo down pushing him backwards either with the jab or left hook. At no point did we see this with Lara, always going backwards and looked negative. To beat Canelo Khan cannot go straight back or move as much as Lara did , however I don't think he has the smarts or confidence to move forward as Floyd did. Canelo in 10 , in a pretty entertaining fight.
1. Ducknelo was drained in that fight. 2. Ducknelo was more experienced in Lara fight, he knew what to do. 3. IV was blood doping in Drainelo fight and its fact.
Lara was in control of the whole fight. He forced Canelo to go to plan b and come after him and not the other way around.
If Canelo wasn't so arrogant, thinking he could outbox Canelo and started pressing from round one he might have won the fight. Then you could make an argument he forced Lara back.
Khan will look good early. Canelo will figure out the timing though. All it will take is one good shot from Canelo and Khan is going down and/or out. Also, I don't expect Khan to look any better than Cotto did using lateral movement. Cotto boxed well. But, Canelo gets rounds for just being aggressive. Canelo will win either by points or stoppage. Can't forget about Canelo's defense and head movement either. He will be a lot more difficult for Khan than most would think. He's actually more skilled as a boxer, IMO. Khan has the advantage in foot and hand speed. But, Canelo's hans are not slow in the least and he throws in combination. Khan does not have the defense skill to evade entire combinations each time. He will have to back up, and that will make Canelo the "aggressor" and he will score rounds.
Khan is going to run around the ring and hold. Looking to flurry at times and steal rounds in the last 30 seconds of every round. Canelo is going to march forward similar to the Lara fight and rip bombs to the body. Eventually the head will open up for a big shot and then he'll pin Khan to the ropes and finish the fight.
