Floyd didnt look any different . Guerrero is no Cotto!

    Firstly, good performance by Floyd. Yes it was safety first and not overly exciting , but it was one for the purists.

    But I am hearing how Snr has rejuvinated Floyd into some super fighter and Roger is past it.

    This is just not true , Floyd fighting Cotto last night would have been busted up and bloodied because it was Cotto.

    Take the reverse and have the Guererro fight first then fight Cotto and we would be saying Floyd has gone backwards.

    Guerrero is simply a good solid fighter nothing more and Floyd did a good job.

    I think he looked better against Cotto funny enough. He's gone back to just potshotting now. He was actually throwing combinations in his last few fights. A regression if you ask me.

    it's a big move switching your head trainer in the corner, but floyd did that big move cause he knew Ghost was no threat.

    I dont agree, because Floyd PUT HIMSELF on the ropes in the Cotto(e) fight, then languished there for long stretches. He still did good work from that position, but tonight, he did none of that.

    I whole-heatedly agree that Cotto(e) is leagues above Guerrero, but Floyd showed he could move in the 11th and 12th against Miguel, and had great success. If you can't recognize that, then you're not really paying attention.

    I made a thread about this a month or two ago. What happened in the Cotto fight happened because Cotto matches up well with Floyd stylistically

    He put himself on the ropes against Guerrrero too. Your not recognizing what Cotto was doing to put him in those situations. He was cutting the ring off and backing Floyd up. Cotto is a really good fighter - past it or not, that's the main difference.

    This is the problem with this website.

    Floyd put himself on the ropes??? No it was Cotto closing the gap quicker than he thought and was able to land punches that previous fighters couldnt because Cotto is that good.

    Also the reason why Floyd was able to move in the later rounds had nothing to do with a change of plan , but more to do with his unhuman like cardio. Cotto tired Floyd didnt and therefore Floyd could stay off the ropes.

    Its pretty clear.

    Yup. Cuts off the ring well, tight guard, steps into a stiff jab, good body & combination-puncher, and capable on the back foot.
