Floyd disrespects Hopkins - who's greater between the two?

    Floyd a G-reat fighter, poor resume. Oscar was old, yet some thought oscar won including his own father. Marquez is not only old, but went up 2 weight classes and still didnt even make weight. Mosley, old, blood drained, and didnt get to use his roids and epo meaning not the same mosley oscar fought. Hatton not bad fight even though he was up his weight where he was a lineal champ. So his best recent fight was judah, in which many other. Fighters had a better win against judah. Ie cotto, zoo, baldomir via KO. Hopkins best win was tarver and glen johnson and had fought legends in there 20s while he was in his late 30 and 40s.

    Its not just who you fight, its how you perform against them, remind me the last time Floyd struggled with a Robert Allen type or get floored twice by a Mercado level fighter? People talk about Floyd cherry picking but ignore the face Hopkins could have fought Prime Jones Rematch, Prime Calzaghe (168), Prime Reggie Johnson, Chad Dawson (a stylistic nightmare)

    around the gatti fight, mayweather was saying he should be p4p number 1 not hopkins because he "could have stayed at lightweight and milked the title" for a long time like he said hopkins did at middleweight.

    I stand corrected, though he was just trying to make a case for himself. My guess is that he actually dislikes Hopkins at this point.

    yea, he said all hopkins does is hold. and he bet against him in the calzaghe fight i think.

    Mayweather. He is a better over all boxer and has a better resume than Hopkins.

    Not even close it's Hopkins. I would of ranked Floyd higher had he beaten PreMargarito Cotto and Margarito, the 2 monsters of his division when Floyd decided to do his disappearing act. He takes on weaker competition like Judah, Baldomir, and Gatti with all due respect, while the whole world wanted to see Floyd fight the real welterweights in Cotto and Margarito. Floyd and Judah's stint as unified undisputed welterweight champs were a fluke. IMO Floyd's best wins were he rematch vs Castillo and with Hatton. Oscar and Shane were too old and limited by the time Floyd fought them, Judah as many can currently see in not a welterweight, look at the division he is in right now, JMM despite being p4p is a lightweight and Floyd fought him at 147. Hopkins is a lightheavyweight fighting as a middlweight, but despite him beating great welters like Oscar and Tito he beat bigger men like Tarver and Pascal when he shouldn't of had. He was also the underdog in the Pavlik fight. Hopkins beats fighters in their primes. Floyd won't even step in with Berto. Close thread.
