floyd hits harder and is deadly accurate. that makes a difference. I wont get into it though, you already have your hands full
Well, no disrespect to De La Hoya, but he was getting the best of Mayweather when they chose to slug, which is why Mayweather fought very cautiously. In the last seconds of the 12th round, when Mayweather finally decided to try to ASSERTIVELY win the fight, De La Hoya got the best of their exchange. They didn't exchange because Floyd intelligently decided that going punch for punch with De La Hoya would result in a KO. Pac didn't have this issue and was not afraid to push the fight because his hand speed, and explosive combination punching were too much for De La Hoya to handle. Obviously, Mayweather and Pacquaio have different strengths and weaknesses. Marquez appeared just as fast as Pacquaio or slightly slower, and combinations are his bread and butter. Mayweather at this stage is more of a pot shot, accurate specialist, that prefers not to get into engagements. As he's said a number of times, "Getting hit is not cool." So if you are surprised by this, I don't really know what to tell you.
He can be a low output pinpoint puncher and he has been at WW At the lower weights he was known for his combinations and offensive prowess as well as his defensive skills. Like someone earlier pointed out you could see a lot of his combos reemerging in the Ortiz fight. It is clear you really have no idea about what you are talking about. It is very apparent.
Stop reading after the first paragraph...In no way did De La Hoya get the best of May...If you call swing flurries and missing most of his shots then more power to you.
I'm not trying to argue that and in all honestly, it's not necessarily SPEED that's the issue, although it plays a significant part, it's the ability to land combinations which Marquez shows he is superior at or is AT LEAST willing to take the risk. Mayweather when he chose to go punch for punch with De La Hoya, De La Hoya was getting the best of it. Obviously, Mayweather is not that type of fighter. Are you suggesting that Mayweather can now beat Kirkland in a slugging match? I mean, basically that's how ridiculous the question you asked me about.
Try to convince your BOI FLOYD about that and hopefully he'll grow up some balls. Right now you'll just have to contend yourself with your delusions that FLOYD will win easily. Hopefully, you'll wake up before you have a nightmare. :hat
Dont get mad at me because you're not making any sense.:rofl You're trying to hard to illustrate something that never even happened. If you dont like what I type then dont quote me! **** how you feel!:good
Nice video, how that aids in your argument that he is capable of combination punching at a rate Floyd can't has yet to be seen. Reduced to strawmen so quickly? :rofl:rofl
The point was he can do everything Marquez does, but better, which was a lie. Yeah, strawmen..... nice.
