Hatton-Floyd was considered a cherry pick and a easy win for Floyd.

If it was someone actually competitive **** it would of broke 1 million.

Again, the inference being what? You're confident he would have surpassed the ticket sales for Hatton v Pac, thusly, meaning he deserved the larger share of the purse should they fight? Which is what this thread is about.

Any attempt to justify Floyd being the bigger draw would be mainly opinion backed up with malleable statistics that can be interpeted in any number of ways. None of which are very important and, certainly, are not very exciting.

Why would a fight that is considered to be an easy victory and a cherry pick sell so much?

    :deal

Im almost sure Floyd has also sold more PPVs than Pac combined.

Dont hold me on that though.

Klitschko has a greater KO percentage than Tyson, is he more exciting? Floyd hasn't fought for nearly two years and the current situation is very different to the one he left. A better comparison will be for their next fights against JMM and Cotto (if it goes ahead).

In your opinion, at that time, who could he have fought that would have done more PPV sales with him than Hatton?

Yep that was the expectations on Floyd but disgustingly he didn't live up to the expectations... Why? coz he's afraid to bang... He doesn't give that extra to totally dominate an opponent... Floyd has all the skills and abilities but most of the time he disappoints the fans... Most of the time he underperformed given his vast skills and talent...

It sounded more rhetorical to me but I'll give it a bash. I think, if this forum was any indication, a lot of people felt it was a fairly competitive fight. Admittedly the more savvy of analysts had Floyd winning handily but the overall view was that this was a test for Mayweather, especially from the casuals.

Are you referring to PPV sales in the US only or including the UK? Don't forget how many sales were done here because of Hatton.

And has Pacquiao fought a fighter that is suppost to beat but still can draw? Didn't Pacquiao vs Diaz on hbo ppv draw only 270k? It's funny that most dumb people thinks Pacquiao is the bigger draw then Mayweather. If Many didn't think Mayweather vs Marquez was a mismatch, that ppv buyrate would be around 600k maybe more and it would sell out faster.

    False.

Floyd Vs Baldomir did 325k - link

Pacquaio vs Morales I & II did 350k and 360k respectively - link

Not that any of this matters but just saying... lol

Thats not bad considering Mayweather vs Baldimor was consider by everyone to be a mismatch but it did 325k but Pacquiao vs Morales 1, 2 did around 350 to 360k thats like 30 to 40 more up. But when Pacquiao face David Diaz ( the same level as Baldimor) on hbo ppv, it only did 270k.

u guys keep saying it was floyd's dance partners (oscar and ricky) that were the real draws but for any fight to be huge, both fighters have to be draws... i think that's what the last few years have shown us, fighters cannot sell fights just by themselves, you need a massive hero AND a massive villain

you can say about him what u will but he knows how to sell fights... this fight will get made there is no question in my mind

the days of roy jones fighting people like eric harding on hbo ppv are long gone
