Pre De La Hoya Pac is meaningless. The general public didn't know who he was until that fight. In the here and now, 2009, Manny is a much larger draw than no money. The public is board with no money. They have left too mnay boring fights feeling ripped off. Unless the general public feels that no money's oponent can beat him they wont pay to watch him fight. He isn't exciting. If he ever expects to pay off the IRS his days of cherry picking are over. If you want to charry pick fights you have to be an exciting fighter.

You talk about Pacquiao vs Diaz in which many in public eyes didn't know who Diaz was? Well Diaz did fought the world famous well known Morales. Baldimor is just like Diaz also not much well known to the public. The public might forgot he fought Judah and Gatti before facing Floyd.

**** he did 2.4 million in his next fight with Oscar.

Oscar at the peak of his career vs Tito could only do 1.4

Think about the excitement Pac brings to a fight, and thing about Mayweather. Mayweather needs the right opponent to creat an exciting super fight, Pac at this point does not. Mayweather will soon find this out when he sees the numbers of the Marquez fight, and the arena filled only with hispanics. He lives in a dream world, and hes about to get a reality check.

    Not true...

    ------------------

    Pacquiao-Marquez Sets PPV Record

HBO reports that the March 15 rematch between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez generated 400,000 buys totalling $20.2 million in sales. Both marks establish new records for any pay-per-view event with the main event at a weight below welterweight. Last year's Floyd Mayweather-Oscar De La Hoya welterweight bout holds both PPV records at 2.4 million PPV buys and over $134 million in revenue.

The Pacquiao-Marquez fight also generated $3.3 million in ticket sales at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. It may take a while, but a rematch is too lucrative not to happen.

If Floyd took 60/40(which he won't) he would still make more money than Pacquiao. Arum is raping Manny.

Thats the onion. Welterweight, for the average fly by night fan boxing begins at Welterweight. They dont pay money to see lightweights fight. Comparing WW buy numbers to LW buy numbers is comparing apples to oranges.

This is so funny, you might have forgotten mexicans and asians are no longer the minority in the United States, they are now the majority combined, and i believe every mexican guy wanted to see the guy that beat every mexican fighter out there + every filipino and the rest of the asian community is watching the fight.

I myself will not pay mayweather fight, that means -1 from his crowd. i believe im not the only one.

Floyd deserves 55% of the purse IMO, especially if he deals with Marquez appropriately.

That said, either boxer rejecting a 50-50 purse split would be messing with his own image in the public eye.
