No, the point is hes been a welterweight since 2007 at least, when he was fighting at 154, and him 'not being a welterweight' was more shitty excuses for him not fighting the big guys at 147....

now pac comes along and its 'it HAS to be at 147 or NO FIGHT' bull****.

whatever, i dont really give a ****.... i just find it funny.

If pac was smart hed let mayweather weigh whatever the hell he wants to, and manny just come in like always, 144 or so. These catchweight fights are bull****... if manny doesnt want to fight welterweights, then dont. Its just good to finally know mayweathers actually a welterweight now. Hope it stays that way when it comes time to face some bigger guys at the weight.

When he fought at 154 he weighed in at 150 and lost weight by fight time. If he was a welterweight like Cotto or Clottey who come into the ring at around 160 do you think he would have had issues even making the upper limit?

But thanks for proving my point...when Mayweather fought DLH they fought at the normal weight limit for Junior Middle and Mayweather simply came in under it at his comfortable weight. Pac can certainly do the same, particularly since he just won the WELTERWEIGHT title.

In fact, for all of the bitching about him and how protected he is, Mayweather has never demanded a catchweight when moving up.

Bottom line, if he's good enough to TKO Cotto, win a welterweight belt, and get ranked #1 welterweight by ring, he's certainly good enough to fight at the actual weight class limit. Whatever some random nobody on an internet forum said about him being a small welterweight two years ago has ****all to do with that.

They are just guaranteing that floyd will be a welter when he comes in. If they ask for 147, floyd will come at 149, so the logical thing is ask for 145 then he will come at 145 plus be penalized 2 million dollars as well.

That is the stupidest thing I ever heard in my entire life. Athletes do not come in at fights not hydrated, be it a distance runner, or even those that are already in the water like swimmers.

If you do not understand human physiology, you might as well brush up on it especially on fluids and electrolytes, as well as on physiology in extreme conditions. To say that Mayweather dehydrated himself prior to fight (which is the only way to loss poundage within a span of few hours) is both dangerous and detrimental and infact unnecessary because post-weigh-in gain is not even monitored except if it is for the IBF titlle (an american boxing organization thus with more strict weight criteria).

When you loss weight, your brain shrinks as well, thereby, putting a strain on the small blood vessels in the brain because it becomes pulled by virtue of the shrinkage. Thus, dehydrated fighter increase their risk of head trauma or bleed. Furthermore, although they are fighting under airconditioned environment, the sweat more than any other form of sports further contributing to further dehydration (logically, you do not want to start on the negative fluid balance). That is why the post-weighin gain is very important. \

People always believe those announcement by the model of moral excellence Floyd when it comes to his weight in each fight, yet those post weigh-in are not actually being done by any organization bar IBF. And the evolving pattern is that either he losses weight (most of the time) or he remains the same. Baloney!!!!!! Tell that to the ignorant people.

No fighter wants it in their contract to weigh in at 145, and if that fighter is over pay PAc extra money.

Pac is a JrWW. Floyd is a WW.

Pac vs Floyd at a catchweight.

    Makes sense.

The small man syndrome is dead. PAc beats 2 ww's. It's high time you phony ass PAc fans(not you PH) say the fight should be at 147.

    floyd fights marquez at 144,

then floyd should have no problem fighting pac at 145 unless he's chicken ****.

roach and arum are being more than generous of offering floyd 145, he's lucky they dont ask for 144.

u know it make sense cus all u pac haters say marquez is the better fighter compared to pac. why not even at 144 then? the offer of 145 is being kind to floyd.

u know for a fact money may will come in at 2 lbs over anyway so the fight really its gonna be at 147.

Floyds fans saying he's not a natural WW, agrees to fight JMM at 144, then goes in over weight., then avoids the legit WW's...Where does Floyd really belong???
