As long as you don't call Boxing prize fighting? This nonsense makes sense. :hand

I say this as a BIG Clottey fan.

bball you gotta admit Clottey fought many of the fighters of the stacked 2008 WW division when Floyd retired. Clottey never lost a fight by a wide margin besides to the cheat. He was seen (pre Pacquiao) as strong and live as **** against any fighter willing to battle him at 147.

Main point is he is battle tested and legit as a Welter compared to Hatton, JMM and Ortiz.

That's because that is the percieved game plan you need to beat Floyd. The Castillo blue print. Marquez a counterpucnher even tried using it

yes Clottey is a good fighter, but that's not the point. People are saying Floyd ducked him. When the hell was that?

I agree he did not duck him. I understand Floyd's points and I do not necessarily believe he would not beat any of the Welters he could have faced in 2008 but I do lean with other boxing fans in even if the world knows you have the talent, there is no other sport than boxing where you still must face the best in the public's eye to earn the majority support and certainly a historical support.

Floyd never ducked, Cotto, Margarito, or Clottey. And any fan that believes Floyd cheated Marquez at the scales shouldn't even be allowed to talk about the sport of boxing.

I'd say the welterweights he avoided and missed out on during retirement are legitimate claims, but Clottey? He was a ranked Welterweight but he was almost never seen as a particularly threatening fighter for the elite, or an especially talented one either.

Of the 3, Margo, Cotto and Clottey, it seems you're only disputing that Floyd ducked Clottey.

Do you agree then that he ducked Cotto and Margo? :think

Bballchump11 already has a whole thread dedicated to Floyd and how he didn't duck Margarito. The one about Cotto is coming up soon :deal
