Please Please dont flood my topic with nonsense. Name five fighters that Floyd DUCKED in his career.

I'll take Cotto as a legitimate answer
but Floyd made the offer to fight Cotto at 140 and Arum never countered and to my knowlege to this Day Arum still hasnt made any offer to Floyd.

I wont take Margarito because of three reasons: Clottey and Williams. To me and its my opinion, they proved Floyd didnt need to fight him. Third, in the business world anyone who turns down 8 mil to make 25 mil is ok with me because boxers aint getting health benefits no matter what John McCain says.

Sugar will not be an acceptable answer because of the "toothache comment". So now I gave you one, Cotto. Name four more Thank You. If you cant then from one boxing fan to another, please stop filling up this GREAT BOARD with TRASHY POSTS. (Myself Included.)

You can't use the lame excuse that "Margarito lost so therefore FLoyd didn't duck him".:patsch

I don't understand why it even matters who Floyd ducked or dodged in his career. Every boxer has that aura surrounding their name when they retire from the sport of boxing. As far as I am concerned he only ducked the welterweights but what about the other 4 divisions he fought in nobody seems to bring those up

He blatantly ducked Margarito. That was the most obvious. He was the mandatopry to Vivian Harris, but shoe Brusseles instead. But I don't know if that counts. Harris at the time was seen as dangerous and avoided @ 140. So maybe.

Everyone seems to be giving Floyd credit for what he did at 135!

What was it that impressed you most about each particular stint at other weight divisions:huh

He deserves credit for beating the champ @ 135 (albeit closley and contrversially) and then again in a rematch. Other then that, he didn't really do anything @ 135 that 100 others LW CHamps haven't done.

I don't believe this retirement is real, but let's say it's real.

The Margarito "duck" has more claim to me, than a Cotto one.

There was an offer on the table at least for Margarito.

The Harris fight not happening was enough proof that when Floyd ditches one supposedly dangerous opponent then he has a great reason to do so and the undercard of his fight with Gatti was the best proof and every fight after that. Margarito losing to the likes of Santos and Williams was also good enough proof that this fight wasn't as "dangerous" and scary to death(for Floyd of course) as people thought it is.

Any more? I feel this thread will die EARLY because no one really has a solid arguement than Cotto and Arum never made Floyd an offer

Yeah he ducked him by offering tony the fight after Judah lost to Baldo then turning down 8 million to fight Oscar for 25 million. I can see that.

Thing is If Cotto was offered a fight with Oscar I bet you that he too would pull out of the fight with Tony.....I just wonder would that be seen as ducking or smart business move???? Dont worry about a reply cuz I already know what your going to say, and its only because it hasnt happened yet.

I would have liked to see him challenge Tszyu, Mosley, Margarito, Harris and of course Cotto. Don't know if this "retirement" is for real like the tear soaked retirement following the Baldomir fight but if it is I accept it. He just doesn't have it in him to get prepared for a fight as big as Cotto OR DLH! I actually feel he is worried about this time around with Oscar!

Floyd is a businessman first.....he re-named himself "Money".

The Fans like to see The Champ fight the best contenders first.

When the shams aren't veiled enough, then the Fans see thru them,
    and the Fan's get p.o.'ed.

Talk to the Used Car Dealer down on the corner....he's seen it all
    too.
