Yeh but Hatton is probably pissed he didnt do as much of the elbowing as well.

While Cortez was pretty dire, credit to Floyd he totally neutralised Rickys inside work, by any means necessary and like Ricky says, 'it aint a tickling contest'

wow certain people seem to be ignoring the quote where hatton himself justifies the elbows.

Floyd has been doing this for the longest. He always gets away with it because he looks like he's shoulder rolling.

This is all part of being a good fighter. It's the little things that happen on the inside that a referee doesn't see that sometimes makes the difference in the fight.

Hatton is a rough type of fighter. He holds, hugs, puts his shoulder into his opponents, etc. Floyd just fought rough back. Stop bitching because Hatton lost.

I WANTED HATTON TO WIN, because I thought it would've been a great story for a guy with such a great way about him to beat the loud mouth. But, the loud mouth is just a BETTER FIGHTER.

Anyone here who has ever boxed (even just sparring in a gym) would know that elbows sometimes happen. Rough-housing sometimes happen. That's the name of the game.

Remember, this is fighting, NOT DANCING WITH THE STARS. Incidentally, with the way Hatton holds, he could be the next boxer to try his hand at dancing...

yup, and rick said after the fight he had no complaints about that, he would have done the same given half a chance. ;)

i dont disrespect Floyd for it, its part of boxing, i do however think Cortez should put the name "Firm but Fair" in the bin and just go by the name "firm", cause he was blind to the stuff Floyd was doing.

i dont think it would have mattered like, Floyd was awsome and just WAY to good for Rick.

Good honest assesment. I think much more highly of Ricky Hatton after the bout, but I also think much less of England as a whole. Sorry folks, you dont travel somewhere and boo the national anthem. Bunch of bloody tossers.

if its ANY consolation mate, (and i am sure its not), the 5 people in my house all shouted at the TV during the US national anthem "FOR CHIRSTS SAKE STOP BOOOOOOING", i agree 100% it was ****ing awful and i was ashamed of everyone involved (as i am everytime it happens), hopefully this can change with the next generation of people, all we have to do is start teaching people (youngsters), its just not ****in acceptable.

    LOL.

I honestly think that at the last minute FMJ changed his entrance music as a reaction to the crowd booing.

It was didsrespectful, and I know that everyone isnt like that, but it was **** poor to be displayed on such a major level like that.

Ain't that the truth!!! Without Vann there to tie one hand behind the back of Ricky's opponent he was clueless!!

His toughest fight, while it lasted!! ROFL!!

I think there will be a few ODLH fans who would disagree with your statement!!

Of course Hatton make fights tough, doesn't mean he's tough or that he's a good boxer! Hatton only makes fights tough for boxers because he turns them into WWF matches!!!
