I just don't think it's worth the trouble for Pacquiao fans to throw out the Cotto win simply to slate Floyd's fight with Alvarez (which is essentially what you'd be doing). Aside from the Barrera destruction, that's right up there with his very best career wins and performances.

Floyd also said before this that he thought Clottey beat Cotto.

So anyone reading into and continually bringing up the "I look at Cotto as undefeated" quote is simply not a smart person.

Like all boxers, they will say anything at the time for the maximum appeal.

    ---

Everybody views Pac's win over Cotto as one of his very best. Don't be hypocrites now and try to hold a double standard to Floyd.

Who's this "everybody"? The very same people who criticized Pac for the
catchweight vs cotto are now defending Floyd.

Look up the words hypocricy and irony and then go over what you just posted:deal

So you take a significant amount away from Pac's win over Cotto then? Cool. I disagree, but whatevs.

You think Oscar is a ***** for demanding a 156 pound catchweight against Hopkins, the 160 pound champion?

Think less of Khan for draining Diaz down to 143?

Think less of Matthysse for taking a catchweight with Peterson at 141 pounds?

And less of Ortiz's win over Berto for the 146 pound catchweight?

I believe Henry Armstrong had a couple catchweight fights too. I guess you'd think less of those victories too.

    Damn...

All I'm saying is that even the most critical person of the catchweight Pac used on Cotto doesn't hold so much significance in it that they don't value it as one of Pac's best wins. It is routinely ranked as one of his 3 or so best victories, even by those who seemed to give him a hard time for it.

Edit: But if you want to consider all catchweight fights as No Contests, by all means.

I didnt say any of that, you did. :nut All that tape did is expose Floyd as a huge hypocrite. U basically said yourself we shouldnt believe anything he says..

that includes all that stuff about drug tests and everything hes said about other fighters like pac , cotto , margo , etc. right?

Well then you'd be a hypocrite for agreeing to some of those but not all...

Absolutely. Just like we shouldn't believe anything those fighters say in regards to their opinions about certain things.

Saying and doing are two different things. You don't have to believe he "wants to clean up the sport." But he IS making sure drug testing is done for his fights, so one could draw the conclusion he is in some way, to whatever degree, cleaning up the sport.

Actions. They are different than words.

Ya and his actions scream hypocrisy. Asks Pac for extra drug tests but not his 40 or so previous opponents, "because he wants to clean up the sport."

Criticizes pac for using catchweights, and turns around and does the same thing.

contradicts and flip flops on every thing under the sun.

His actions and words show hes a bigger liar then bob arum. :deal

Btw were any of those guys 2x champion at the weight class that they dragged their opponent down from?

We already have catchweights, they're called Jr. divisions. This is simply adding another catchweight on top of a recognized catchweight.:deal
