I'm NOT saying Mayweather's chin is glass, but this fight showed that it's not exactly iron, either - a weakness that Pacquiao could exploit. Sure, it's nowhere near Khan-level, but it's not exactly Jake LaMatta level either. This gives Pac a VERY good chance of winning this fight. If an old man like Mosley can tag Floyd like this, it stands to reason that Pacquiao could too. We will see.
haha this forum never ceases to amaze me it's a boxing match you are expected at some point to take shots (yes even floyd!) floyd took the first right hand was stunned yes but recovered well and fought smartly tying his man up. The second one didnt even catch him on the chin it was on the temple. If anyone knows anything about boxing or has boxed a good shot to the temple is a nightmare for your balance and equilibrium. If anything this fight just underlined why hes so good. Not only does he have brilliant skills speed etc but he has the intangibles. Live with it people
he coudnt hit him after round 2 because floyd switched it up and he wasent gassed he became trigger shy because if he missed in any way shape or form he got tagged hard and flush
Floyd's chin is supposed to be "good". He doesn't get hit enough, it's still a question mark. He got hurt by 1 shot here, then almost knocked out by the 2nd one. It just proves Margo's chin was/is iron or Mayweather's chin is not that great at least against a strong hitting welter.
It's not natural to get hurt if you have a great chin. To the extent that fighters get wobbled in boxing matches, this establishes that their chins may not be 100 percent sturdy. No one is saying Mayweather has a glass jaw, but this incident shows it isn't exactly iron, either.
So he thought just stand there and get hit all night with not even try to land any combos or power hooks? lol Shane so plain shot man, Floyd was fighting a shell of Shane.
The notion that a competitive person like Freddie Roach who prides himself on his ability to figure opponents out and train his fighters to exploit their weaknesses, goes out of his way to avoid the greatest challenge of his professional career ... is absurd. That's not how (most) trainers or fighters think. Freddie Roach wants this and if anything was probably encouraged by what unfolded in the 2nd round.
True, Shane did not look good. He looked at times "frozen" like the shot Roy Jones -- unable t pull the trigger. BUT, Shane was outboxed by Vernon Forest long ago. The outcome I suspect would have been similar (though more competitive) with a prime Shane.
He passed the chin test with flying colors as soon as round 3 started and he coming forward applying pressure. End Thread
I agree even a prime Shane would i feel lose to Floyd, but at least then if he rocked Floyd like last night could of done better and scored a KD after that you never know what could of happened.
Well Floyd was def hurt cause he was holding on for dear life But Mosley couldent capatilize, and got his ass spanked for the rest of the fight I was upset, cause I was rooting for Mosley But the better man won Floyd is now the Welterweight KIng
