I don't see how you cherry pick the #2 ranked welterweight in the world behind Manny Pacquiao.

    That being said:

If you're asking if I had any doubts about the outcome, then I would agree with you. I didn't believe Ortiz had a shot at winning. Not even a slight chance. I knew he was going to get worked, and he did.

Of course, if did not fight him, people would probably claim he ducked him despite what they really feel about his chances of winning.

There were many on here, who after seeing him dismantle Berto wrote things like "Floyd would never fight Ortiz, he won't fight a big, young, strong, energetic fighter who isn't over the hill". As soon as Floyd signed to fight him he became a cherrypick.

Pac and Floyd are pretty much in a no win situation.

Floyd will get no credit till he fights Pac. No matter who he fights after he wins he will get no credit. If he beats Pac he will get no credit.

Floyd handpicked Ortiz. That's irrefutable. He admitted it himself.

Ortiz was the only other champion besides Pac and Berto, I do believe in the welter weight division who was holding a title. Pac don't want to fight, Berto just won the title back, so who else is there to fight other then Ortiz?

Who else could he have fought? Like someone else said he is the #2 WW behind Pacquaio. I never thought Ortiz was gonna win or anything but who else was there?

no, he was a good selection. all you guys talk about how Floyd sucks vs southpaws, well he took one on and fought the 2nd biggest guy he's ever fought off a 16 month layoff who's also in his prime, fast and heavy handed.

I would have loved if Manny chose Ortiz as an opponent, but I knew it wasn't going to happen and didn't even entertain the idea
