It's Floyd's fault this time. He's waiting Pac out until Pac has taken too much punishment but it could backfire on him being he's older. He won't even mention Martinez name. He wouldn't mention Williams name years back and when Williams was calling him out, he went and fought Marquez because Marquez "called him out" You say no matter who he fights like he fought everyone. He hasn't and he's only limited his own career. If he feel he's not given the credit he deserve, he shoud do what fighters before him done and fight, not go on vacation. Fight like the greats have if you want to be looked at as a great.

ATGs are judged from what they did, not what they were capable of doing. Skills pay the bills, but accomplisments are what makes you great.

Ortiz was a good opponent. Yeah I thought Floyd would pick him apart, but that has more to do with Floyd. I think Floyd would school Pacquiao too, but that doesn't make him a cherry pick.
Ortiz is pretty fast, and he moves pretty well for his size. If Ortiz isn't good enough, then there is NOBODY at WW that was acceptable to fight then.

Mayweather always fights a guy thats hot at the moment. This Ortiz was hot, and Mayweather did fight him. Boxing is entertainment and thats what it is all about.

South pa, 164 pounds, in his twenties coming off an impressive win, no cherry pick here.

Roger said Floyd needs a tune up fight.

    Ortiz was a tune up.

    How do you spin that?

I think a better question would be: would Floyd have fought Berto if he had won the fight? That's a better question. I know a rational opinion usually doesn't go over well here. but the reality is there isn't a welterweight fighter not name Pacquiao that floyd could have fought that would have made anybody not question it. He fought the winner of the only belt he seems to care about in the WW division. He couldn't fight Pac if he wanted to. So outside of waiting who should he have fought? Cotto? Margarito?

Let's be honest, no matter where you stand on who's right or wrong or who's scared or not scared to fight, the only WW fight that matters is Floyd and Pac. So if this was a cherry pick fight, there could have been worse ones.

Realistically, Floyd only has three fights left in him that will mean anything to his legacy

    1. Amir - Khan would be considered the best young welterweight next to pac and floyd. Probably a tougher fight for him than Pac style wise.

    2. Pac - even though I truly believe he would systematically take Pac apart, this fight has to happen.

    3. Sergio - going up in weight to fight probably his toughest opponent at the end of his prime. This fight could give him legitimate claim to a spot in the top 10 all time with a win. I have doubts about him winning this one though

But after that, no other fights would add anything to his legacy.
