would it change your perception of Floyd?

I cant really imagine him not fighting either of these guys and keep his legacy intact.

And I think 2012 would be too late. They aint younglins.

I don't know man...with fans like Spud1, Michigan Warrior and Bald_head_slick...I don't think anything short of Mayweather actually coming out and saying he is scared to lose to these guys will deter them. I wouldn't be surprised if, even after Floyd comes out and says that, they would still find a way to defend him. They be an ignorant bunch. :verysad

No, because Floyd hasn't been interested in boxing for years now. He's been boxing since he was a child, so naturally he will lose interest. I think not taking the second Oscar fight says it all. That was a big payday. I think his plan was to retire after the 1st Oscar fight, which he did. However, he saw an easy payday in Ricky Hatton & took that fight. He decided to retire, but due to money problems, he came back. The Mosley fight got him back on the right track financially, but he's so poor with money, he will fight again eventually.

Floyd has 3 fights left in him. As a Floyd fan, it would suck if he never fought again.

Floyd fights I'm interested in seeing:
    1) emmanuel
    2) Martinez
    3) Khan in early 2012
    4) Berto, only as a tuneup

Hopefully, he fights twice next year. Maybe Berto in the first half of the year as a tuneup and emmanuel later in the year. If he can't fight emmanuel for whatever reason, he should take on Martinez.

Good point. I mean maybe its just much ado about nothing. We shouldnt expect a fight. Floyd probly dont give a ****. Only thing thing is he sometimes contradicts himself by projecting a fragile mind, ranting and getting into trouble. Hardly an act of a confident, secured guy.

If it makes you feel any better, you would've been the next person I would've written down...but I decided to stop at three :good

Thats two fights in 2011. Christmas break coming, with these two promotions, it could take months to get something started. And hopefully Manny stops with this Mosley talk, because he will get some flak:patsch.

Im hoping for some form of negotiations out of the public and then a big surprise announcement.

In the scenario where Floyd goes straight to emmanuel and beats him, I can see Floyd retiring for good after that.

Thats plausible. And he shouldnt hear **** after it. But what of the orginal question, how would you rank Floyd and who would you compare his legacy with w/o these fights?

Would it be below RJJ? BHOP? or would there be such a strong backlash that he even falls to MAB, Morales category.

Fighting and beating Pacquiao and Martinez would be great for Mayweather. I would like to see it happen. I think he beats both. It can only help if he dose. However if he never fights either of them or anyone for that matter. He has had an outstanding career. He is a five weight class world champion. He has one of the best skill sets of anyone to step into a boxing ring. He has very good resume when it comes to who he fought and beat.

Those are the only two fights for him. Anything else is unacceptable.

Hope legal problems don't get in his way for at least one more fight.
