good observation, cotto changed his strategy that's why pac was able to tag him with his left. pac also improvised and departed from his strategy by allowing cotto to pummel him at will resulting in having his ear damaged by cotto. remember pac said after the fight that he got hurt but didn't show it to discourage cotto. thus, cotto was suckered into engaging pac and we know what happens when you do that with pac.

 

Cotto was beaten possibly by plaster at 147, and Pacquiao at 145 lbs. And because he's earned the right to fight Floyd, Cottos damaged goods. This is why true fight fans hate you. You're ****ing stupid. Every last one of you useless Pacquiao trolls.
