If he was just fighting Paul this year then I'd be pissed, but he's fighting Paul to get ready for Pacquiao obviously. As long as they don't try to make a big ppv out of it and he signs to fight Pacquiao beforehand then I'm fine with it, but you'll hate anyways :deal because you believe tuneup fights are supposed to be against p4p level fighters, well Floyd already did that against Marquez, but you stil hated on that too :bart

It's not ideal and there is not much point in defending it espicialy if it is at 147 or 154. If it takes place at 140 I might be more defending of it.
It's not a great match up, but neither were Pacquiao/Cotto/Clottey/Margarito.
If Pacquiao can have those three fights than I supose that Mayweather could have this one.
It is true that Spadafora's glory days are behind him. he is 7(4)-0-0 in his comeback. Everyone he has beaten in that comeback has had a winning record. On the other hand they are all against no namers.
It is not as bad of a match up that some people are making it out to be, but in the end There are better more chalanging match ups even for a tune up for Mayweather.

Haha, this. This fight would arguably be the worst matchup made in the past 8-10 years.

It's a **** fight but if it's going to take place in South Africa for Nelson Mandela's birthday then it's more of an exhibition anyway, hopefully it will be a warm up to get him back in the game as 147 has dropped off massively with Mosley being passed it and Cotto moving up.
