He punched Hernandez on the top part of the head, broke his knuckle and went down from the pain, same thing I suppose. Although cheap, legitamate KD.
Too bad. Why did Oscar win a decision over Sturm when he should of lost. Why did he get a gift over Pea when he was clowned and dropped?
When someone from a fighter's corner enters the ring during a round, the ref has the option(not the obligation) to disqualify the fighter. Therefore, it is up to the ref as whether or not the fighter gets DQ'd. It's not something that automatically happens in that situation.
I had the Sturm fight a draw. I had him beating Whitaker by two rounds. Both fights subject for debate. BUT Rules are rules and R. Mayweather broke them. Either way PBF won, that's life.
I think even BoxRec mentions: "Floyd gets his first offical knockdown when his left glove touches the canvas". Not that BoxRec rangers can read. But still.
Choke? Did you not see Zab Judah GO RIGHT AFTER Roger and start punching him? Zab could of easily stayed away and not even got touched but instead engaged with Roger. Zab got mixed up in all the brawl, he would of never been touched by Roger had he just stayed in a corner.
Yeah, the ref had clearly already called time. Furthermore, if ANYONE was going to be DQed, it should have been Judah, for one of the most BLATANT low blows I have EVER seen. Some may disagree, but I truly believe Judah was on the way out and that's why he did it. If it wasn't for the time he had in between (during the scuffle, etc...) I'm not positive he would have made it to the final bell. Mayweather's performance in the Judah fight was excellent, imo. Yes, he had trouble in the first couple of rounds (as Judah IS a good starter - or as he put it, a front-runner), adapted EXTREMELY well (one of his big pluses as a fighter), and proceeded to break and beat him down from then on. Again, without the blatant low-blow, I'm not sure Judah would have made the final bell.
The rule applies to when someone from a fighter's corner enters the ring, which is what happened in this situation. As far as what happens once the conerman enters the ring, well, this is why the ref has the discretion as to whether or not to disqualify the fighter represented by the offending cornerman. Floyd himself, in no way, incited or furthered the riot. He stood in the corner and did nothing. It is for this reason that the ref probably decided not to DQ him. The fact that you say Floyd's corner broke the rules and that he definately should have been DQ'd shows your lack of the understanding of the rules; similar to the way that you scoring 5 rounds for Judah shows your lack of understanding of how to score a fight.
Also add in, the riot probably would of never happened had Judah never purposely low blowed and rabbit punched Mayweather.
That probably also factored into the ref's decision. Once again, this is why the ref has the discretion as to whether or not to DQ a fighter in this situation. There are way too many variables to make a black and white rule regarding this issue. Nobody in their right mind could say it would be fair to DQ Floyd in that fight given the totality of the situation.
Floyd standing in the corner not doing ANYTHING, imo, is a testament to him as a fighter. Say what you will about him out of the ring, but the man is damn focused INSIDE the ring. During the WHOLE ruckus, Floyd stood there, didn't move, and was simply an "observer". Didn't get frustrated, didn't get angry (at Judah, his own corner, or the whole situation) and just proceeded on with the fight.
