Floyd Fight Only Sold 400,000 PPVs

I keep hearing people say this, but Floyd has had only 2 of all his PPV's do less than 900k sells. is part of all 3 of the highest PPV bouts, and the highest gate. There is only 1 common denominator and that is Floyd Mayweather, you can say all you want that people paid to watch him lose, that I can believe, but they paid to watch him.

For example, people said Canelo's fanbase is what got all those buys for that bout, yet Canelo had never done more than 500k on his own, and that bout did what, 2.4m. There goes your other fighter fanbase theory....

 

And he's done 1mill a few times - why such a big drop now?

People have wised up to this thief's antics!

I bought it for the undercard which was very strong.

 

The numbers are very good if you are not Floyd Mayweather. To say the least it is better than the Pac-Algeri fight. But Floyd has the highest guaranteed purse.

When it comes to PPV - Floyd is TBE. (The Best Earner)

I cant see anyone in the near future(in the next 10 years) surpassing Mayweather or even come close to his earnings.

 

floyd always fights on september and cinco de mayo for the mexican buyers of ppv. the mexicans bought ppv because of the latino fighters on the undercard. mexicans like warriors fighting and not much on dancing. considering these factors and the hype as the ppv king, it is a flop. floyd does not command the ppv. he is just marketed properly. he is not popular as a boxer on his fights but as a sportsman who got payed the most money. once he is out of boxing, he will be forgotten faster than a smoke clears on the air.

 

This just means he cant call himself the current PPV king. You're only as hot as your last business.
The unfortunate truth is there's women fighters doubling this number of PPV buys now.

 

floyd has been like a bad fart on the boxing scene. he'll never admit he did it.

 

Oh...I'm sure you will hear Mayweather's name quite a bit in the coming years. He will be the measuring stuck for these up and coming fighters.

 

Here's hoping they don't get delusional like Broner and think that, because they've got some talent, they're entitled to Floyd's kind of money and fame without putting the 110% dedication in to their craft that he did.

 

Exactly...guys like Broner miss the point. Floyd works his a$$ off...does not drink, smoke or do drugs. Floyd is out running after the club, while guys like Broner are running up in random hos.

 

People stopped caring, even their Pacquiao didn't do jack**** against Floyd.
