Floyd keeps on complaining that he never gets the credit he deserves

it seems the general thoughts on Floyd on this site (from non *****s) are that he is one of the most gifted boxers of all time yet he doesn't choose to push himself and fight the biggest challenges. thats why he gets boo'ed

i think he get confused as to why, when he is American and keeps winning that people boo him

Floyd maybe you will get the credit you deserve when you fulfill your potential, instead of doing the bare minimum (ducking genuine threat, picking opponents he knows he will beat and talking long vacations)

I found it pretty funny in the post-fight press conference when he was talking about another supposedly great victory, that he'd been training so hard for it, etc. All whilst crying tears of joy.

Get real, Floyd. You're not the only one who ****in' trains for fights. And all you've just done is beat a cherry-picked opponent who didn't belong in the same ring as you, and even that was by sucker punching him  (despite him deserving it).

He picked his opponents... Gatti instead of Tszyu.... Mitchell/Judah instead of Winky..... Baldomir instead of Margarito.... retirement/Marquez instead of facing Cotto or any of the best welters.... vacation/Ortiz instead of Pacquiao.... his choices, he has to live with how it panned out.

I don't get why he gets so emotional about it. Always says he doesn't care about the critics, his legacy, and that money is his only priority besides self preservation.

He picked his poison going the minimum risk route, picking and choosing who and when he fights and he's ended up making more money than he could ever have dreamed of. What's his problem?

It's Floyd fault, he avoid challenges and cherry picks opponent's he knows he can beat.

Please, stop the “Who besides Manny....” nonsense. At this point, it’s Manny or noone. Imagine Spain and Holland reaching the World Cup final, and Spain turning around and saying “We don’t need to bother with Holland. We’ll play the next best team instead. Give us Uruguay”. Would they then have the right to act like they’ve won the World Cup by beating a semi-finalist? Of course not. It’s ridiculous.

This is all correct with his style of fighting and stature he could easily fight 4 times a year...since dec 2007 he could have added names like Cotto, Margarito, P.Williams, Berto, Pacquio, Martinez, Pavlik on top of Marquez, Mosley and Ortiz.

His resume could be the best ever. He is talented enough to have fought all those names and win.

But Floyd says it takes 6 months to sell a PPV.

That shows what his only motivation for fighting on since he got big has been.

He would never have fought 4 times a year, let alone those calibre of opponents. He could however have taken on some of those instead of the outmatched opponents he chose like Gatti, Sharmba, Baldomir, Marquez, Ortiz.

floyd showed how good he is imo. people saying he didn't look that great but to be honest i think they're underestimating ortiz. he beat berto who was considered the best at welter weight other than the top two. ortiz is a very dangerous fighter and mayweather made easy work of him. he is tailor made for floyd but still he showed his reflexes and speed are still awesome and his boxing brain is the best in the world.

what i don't like is the fact he was dominating so easily but instead of knocking him out fair and square he looks for an opportunity to trick him and catch him off guard. what ever people say, floyd knocked out a guy that wasn't defending himself.

Cotto did want to fight him. Margs a cheater. P williams when should that fight have happen who do you think would have won? Do you think people will rememebr williams? Martinez two weight classes bigger? Pavlik are you serious how about hopkins would that have helped?

YOU PEOPLE USE NO LOGIC. AND YES MONEY IS APART OF IT. THATS WHAT PEOPLE FIGHT FOR MONEY

Dosent need to sell anything the fight sells itself.

Tyson fought Seldon in Sept 1996 then fought Holyfield nov 1996....two months...both PPV Tyson far bigger name aswell.

Even if you take away that controversial finish, it was a nothing fight.

Floyd hasn't REALLY impressed me since he dominated Hatton.

really this win is pretty meaningless. Hell, Morales victory over Cano was greater.

Your a ****wit who cant put sentences togeather, Im speaking of the times when those figths could HAVE been made. Williams isnt so big as Martinez etc beat him up but Mayweather could have had him on his ledger.

Again....its all about resume...Ali wins over Norton are ****, he looked **** and performed **** but he still fought him 3 times, going 2-1 even though people think Norton won that series 2-1.

Again Ali was great for his era because he fought EVERYONE.

Its no good saying your the best if you havent fought ALL THE BEST fighters.

Mayweather resume is leaking, he is 34 and has a good two years judging by his performances.

    Why dosent he do this-

    2011
    Dec A. Berto

    2012

    April M. Pacquaio

    July Cotto/ Margarito

    Nov A. Khan

    2013

    Mar S. Martinez

These are all winnable fights, its not out of this realm to think he cant win...the toughest fights are Pac and Martinez.

Again this is counting on the fact that all of the above suggested opponents carry on winning which given the matchmaking i belive they will be.

If it all goes to plan the guy well by the summer of 2013 be 47-0 with maybe 28 knockouts....stats and resume wise it would be insane we would all bow down to him.

He could well go untill 50-0 giving rematches to Pac and Martinez...why not...exciting, incredbible...its what great fighters do lay it all on the line.

If he loses to Pac or Martinez people will still respect him, he put it on the line...we all know Martinez is bigger and we all know Pac is special so nothing to sneeze at if he does lose.
