Difficult to say that the black eye/cut is a result of him declining but having a cut like that two weeks before a big fight is concerning, I don't care what nobody says. Head gear and 16 oz gloves are supposed to prevent **** like this. I'm very curious as to what happened there and if Floyd will spar while the cut/bruise is healing.
The fact that it ain't even a "black" eye just a little puffiness as been mentioned is a detriment to just how good Floyd is - that this is even spoke about. Floyd will have sparring partners in there trying to mimick Guerrero & really rough Floyd up - black eyes are expected, everyone gets hit even defensive geniuses + Floyd spars with guys who around 160. As for "this is unheard of for Floyd", it clearly isn't. We've heard all the stories about Morales and Spadafora in sparring years before. Reading way to much into this.
Floyd needs that rough work from these bigger sparring partners to get himself ready for this fight. People are making this out bigger than it really is. People get hit in sparring I don't care how good your defense is. And it was a small bruise underneath his eye, not a black eye lol.
Nobody made a thread when I got a black eye sparring. Guys are supposed to get a little roughed up sparring. It's sparring. I'd be more concerned if he had a bunch of stiffs as sparring partners.
Why are people on Errol Spence dick? Did nobody see his fight on HBO? Dude was average at best, on the verge of unwatchable. Did he improve dramatically? My boy, Manny knocked him down in the ams, and got robbed by the crooked as judges.
