Floyd gets no Credit for beating an Undefeated Hatton...

Great fight

 

Floyd's division was red hot when he decided to take on a smaller man. What's so difficult to understand about that?

 

I think real boxing fans realise that the Hatton victory was a quality win

 

How about the fact that Hatton was actually heavier whilst being shredded.

If anything Hatton was ophysically more powerful than Floyd.

The fact that Hatton used to make himself look like a skeleton on the scales to get to 140,doesnt make him smaller than Floyd.

 

Hatton was undefeated at the time and a terror to anyone he fought. Even if 147 was not his weight division, it was still a p4p fight. I am fairly confident after this fight he pretty much quit the game.

 

It was an OK win at a time when Floyd could have had a stellar, career defining type win.

Floyd beat the brakes off of Hatton, but he should have been in the ring with a host of other, better fighters. I know you are intelligent enough to realize Hatton was not the test Cotto, Margo, or Williams, even Mosley would have been.

 

What makes you think Margarito would have been anymore of a test than Hatton was?

Floyd beats either. The difference is that Margo was a bigger guy with a granite chin. The fans wanted to see Mayweather in against a guy who could pressure him and rough him up.

Hatton presented that to a lesser degree than Margo and turned out to have a glass mandible. I give Floyd a pass on the glass because nobody knew that at the time.

Even taking Margo off the list, there are still better true welterweights Floyd could have fought. I give him credit for the Hatton victory, but I realize it was a definite, money motivated cherry pick.
