He's using the best defense possible right now in staying out of the ring and avoiding all challenges. Or ****, maybe he really is fed up with the sport. At least the Ring agrees otherwise as the newest issue has Floyd gracing the cover, and it questions what he will do when he "inevitably" returns. And everybody can be beat. Even Floyd.
Considering how bad his dad and uncles Chin was it looks to have skipped a generation. He has shown a good Chin so far. I would like to see it hit with a flush punch from a known power puncher though to see what happens.
Put Floyd in with Hearns and he'll be knocked out every time. Styles make fights, and some challenges are a bridge too far.
He had a good enough chin to be able to take pot shots from Floyd that's for sure. That's if Floyd could enough reach his chin. The guy took 3 rounds of bombs from Marvin Hagler before caving in. I seriously doubt Floyd would knock him out with 1 punch at a time.
Anybody can be KO'd with the right punch. Alot of guys dont understand that speed can sometimes me more of a threat than power.
Just like a lot of guys don't understand that their favorite fighter has to actually prove what they say in the ring rather than just talk about what they would do. Know what I'm sayin?
Speed generates power, so yes, speed makes his punch more powerful to an extent, though not as heavy, but sure he could stun him at times, especially with his accuracy. What you don't seem to understand is Mayweather has fought anybody with Hearns' height, Mayweather is going to be pot-shotting with lead rights or check left hooks like he was against the smaller Hatton, he's up against a guy significantly bigger. I think his accuracy will be reduced because he's going to have to lean up and into the punches more just to reach Tommy's chin, meaning Tommy has more time to evade them.
He's been very lucky when you examine it. His only good win is against castillo imo. The rest I don't care for.
You act like Floyd will be able to test it. Floyd will be ko'd more often than not. I'd put my money on Leonard koing him as well. Floyd's chin was not great and Leonard had enough speed, power and ring smarts to reach it.
Floyd has a great chin! For 1 he sees every punch coming...I'm not sure Id favor him over Hearns..Id favor Hearns by UD...Floyd is quick and elusive but Hearns, though not as quick, could at least keep up...Hearns would have to establish a good jab too and not get lazy with his jab cuz floyd has a sick pull counter right hand! Hearns UD
