Floyd goes on record again saying the gritty Mr. Augustus is still the toughest fight he's ever had. I give props to Floyd for keeping it real here.

Emanuel should have been around in the 40's and 50's when is journeyman record, wouldn't have held him back from having a lot more notoriety. Just think of all the great fights he could of had.

Anyway I guess the point of this thread is do you agree with the former Mr. Burton being Floyd's toughest fight? And the second part, who would you have liked to see Emanuel against from the 1940's and 50's?

The first man that comes to mind for me is Charley Burley.

I don't think he was Floyd's toughest fight, Castillo was, obviously. I just think Floyd always gives Augustus more credit than he does any of the other guys
he beat because he likes Augustus and what he has offered to the sport and there isn't any question as to whether he beat Augustus.

Castillo was a tougher fight to win, but I think the Augustus fight was the most physically taxing fight on Floyd.

From Floyd's perspective, it may have felt harder even though he was winning. Sometimes when you're in the ring, you can't tell if you are winning or not

You knew as soon as you saw his name pop up on espn as a late minute replacement that the dude in front of him had a long night ahead of him. An more importantly you knew it was a card worth watching. I love Augustus

Augustus was a gift to boxing fans everywhere. . . He's probably been robbed more times than any boxer in history. . . Or modern history anyway. . .

Lol, there's this one highlight video of him (with background song being "oh i think they like me" or whatever hte name of it is, you know what im talking about). . . Haha and during one of his fights, this chubby white dude in a red shirt in the crowd stands up, and start dancing along with Augustus!

Love the drunken master! I'm friends with im on facebook, and he lives such a cool life. . . He's really a big hippie. . .

Most people will say Castillo but Augustus was the toughest fight for a healthy PBF

Both Castillo and Augustus are orthodox fighters. Yet people will continue to say Floyd has the most trouble against southpaws. Sounds intelligent enough.

I suggest you watch this fight again Sluggles. Floyd stopped him, but it was a hell of a task getting there...

floyd says that becaue he was not at 100 percent in the 1st castllio fight and he had suffered a injury after only the 3rd in there fight. when they had there 2nd fight it was nothing like there first fight. when he fought burton he was 100 percent and ready for war. that burton fight was hell for him even if he did win all the rds.burton made his ass fight that night.pbf had to ask himself fight or flight and choose to fight and burton took it him busted nose and lip.i can see why mayweather says burton was his hardest fight.

its like if you asked judah what was his best win, he would not say when he tko cory spinks to become undisputed ww champ. he would say the fight he went all 12 rds with against irish micky ward. we on the outside looking in can say what we think was the harder fight or best win for a guy, but sometimes even alot of times the fighter will beg to differ :good

the point is if mayweather says burton was his hardest then who are we, me and you to say know its not its oscar, judah, corley, castillo or anyone else for that matter.

    Absolute nonsense.

Maybe you mean mentally taxing since he's a great craftsman/stylist. I think it might have more to do with Floyd have an inclination toward Augustus style and skills.
